Talk about a Bittersweet World.
It's been eight long years since Ashlee Simpson released that album, and if you're longing for new tunes from the "Pieces Of Me" singer, the wait is nearly over.
Simpson confirmed she's currently working on new music that she plans on releasing in the new year! The catch? It's a joint-album with her husband Evan Ross.
?We?re working on an album together," Simpson tells Us Weekly. "So in the new year, that will be happening! It?s been really fun to work together.?
The collaborative project is a way for the happy couple to spend time with one other. ?When you work separately,? Ross explained, ?you don?t get to hang out ? so this works out well.? Added Simpson, ?This way we can tour together! I?m definitely excited. I love working with my husband.?

Simpson, who attributes her lengthy absence to motherhood, described the sound as ?soulful, fun and reflective of music that [we] both like.?
If you're turned off by the entire idea, don't fret. Simpson plans to release a solo record in the not-too-distant future.
?We?re doing this album together and then we?ll go off and do our own,? she said.
Ross added: "we?ll release this album and then she?ll work on hers.?
