@3:00-5:20: Speaks on how prison changed him for the better- "That ain't the life you wanna be livin'"- how he's had a chance to apologize to certain artists that he did wrong since he's been out (Monica, Rick Ross) and how his new mindset saved a lot of other people's lives because "someone was gonna get it" when he got out.
@5:21-8:40: Talks about his influence on many artists (Waka Flacka, OJ the Juiceman, Migos, Mike Will Made It, Young Thug, Soulja Boy, etc.)- doesn't mind helping new artists, because he's not a hater. Signed Young Thug first, but gave up his rights to him so he could blow up while he was in jail because he couldn't help him being locked up.
@8:41- 11:47: Anyone that Gucci hasn't spoken to in over 2-3 years (like Waka Flacka and OJ the Juiceman), the door's closed for reconciliation. Still wishes them the best. Met Fetty Wap when he got out and says he's a "good dude".
@11:48-12 They pointed out how he never speaks to T.I or Jeezy when they're in the same spots and he says they don't lie each other, so no need to fake it and speak. "Speak for what? We ain't got nothing to speak about... we know we don't like each other. Ain't no need in playing".
@12:13- 13:57: Gucci Mane never got a chance to see Shawty Lo (his good friend) before he passed. They were both convicted felons, so he couldn't come by his house. Charmaledge and Envy speak on how how they were scared of Gucci when he first came on and no one's been able to emulate that since. And then...
@13:58-15:29: Angela starts talking about how she was never scared of Gucci when he came on the first time and he says that she's fronting. He says that she was TERRIFIED! She shoots back,"What would I be scared of? What was you gonna do to me?" and he says,"It's not what I was gon' do to you. It was what I was gon' say to you." Then she says, "Oh."
Gucci then said that they had history- this is where it goes left. Charlamadge asked if he smashed and they both deny it. But after Angela said,"Of course not", Gucci follows with,"She done tried. She was on my d*ck back then." When she denied that, he said that she used to be texting what hotel she was at after he did an interview w/ Melyssa Ford "and alladem" on her Lip Service podcast a few years back. Angela said,"That definitely wasn't me!" and he shot back,"Well, I don't know who it was then." Even after that, she swore on her unborn child that she never did that as her co-hosts laughed about it.
@15:30-17 Gucci's favorite author is Malcolm Gladwell. Read a lot in prison. Says that he's done stuff that he's not proud of in the past (lying, robberies, stealing money), so it keeps him in check when people in the industry do the same stuff to him now.
@17:09- 20:00: He's more focused on the music now that he's been out versus before he went to jail. Worried about quality over quantity. Loves to collab with people. Calls Mariah Carey "dope" and they did two songs in one studio session. Speaks on him and Drake's collabs and calls him "super hard". Might hear something new from him and the top of the year. Talks about how he's proud of the Atlanta music scene currently and how it's evolved in the last few years.
@20:01- 23:39: When asked whether artists should stay independent or sign to a label, he stays they should do what's best for them. Says artists with no money probably should sign if they want to get their music heard, otherwise he would encourage the independent route ("whatever makes your revenue go up"). Todd (some white music executive) stood by Gucci while in jail and called him one of the most talented artists he's ever met. Speaks on his process making his mixtapes versus his albums: the studio sessions for his mixtapes were more easy going and wasn't under a timeline like the albums. Studio sessions for albums were "more rigid and forced".
@23:40- : Speaks on success of "Black Beatles" and said he "knew it was hit when he heard it, but didn't expect it to blow up like that". Has another track with them that will be on Mike Will Made It's next Ransom album. Did the Mannequin challenge during halftime performance at the Hawks game. When asked if he was depressed before he got locked up, he says he was moreso "stressed, mad and the world... just wanted to hurt somebody". Had 5-6 pending cases before he got locked up. Had an IDGAF attitude, but isn't in that angry space anymore.
@25:50-28:39: Used to hate publicity (magazines, photo shoots), because he wasn't getting paid for it. Now he's evolved and says that he realizes that it's bigger than the music- he has people depending on him and he's grateful to be in a position that many people which they were in. Lost weight to wear all of the designer clothes that he likes.
@28:40-30:29: Was placed in the general population with the killers and dealers in prison. Didn't wanna live like that. His new album, East Atlanta Santa is out NOW!
