:uhh:
Who's idea was that?
I feel like I missed a special part of her voice
When she was transitioning into a full fledged womah..
Barely any performances... In the early 2000's Or anything vocally ...
I wonder what she gave
She was performing through 1999 still promoting NSN, and Full Moon came out in 2002. She also did Open from Osmosis Jones soundtrack in 2001. Her voice didn't change much between then.
Full Moon was originally scheduled to be released November 2001
"Open" was actually the very first voice transformation. "Another Day In Paradise" as well..which came out in March 2001?
yea i feel like we still missed out on something special as well
her voice changes every 2 seconds, even now :dead: so i can only imagine. FM and Afro was like less than a 2 years difference and she STILL switched it up. ugh who else can say that

Yeah, "Open" was originally supposed to be the third single off of the soundtrack as well as the first single off of the album. But those plans were scrapped.

I could've sworn she recorded that open song in 99 tho ...
Am really referring to 2000-2001..
She probably just needed a break from music, because she overworked herself. I think they filmed Moesha until 2001. She was busy

Wow. This is such an interesting morsel from the Oprah interview.
Quote from: SonjaI think Brandy felt guilty about her success and couldn't really enjoy it because her friends didn't have the kind of life she had. So she gave her friends very expensive gifts, which was her way of trying to say "I love you." But that wasn't the answer, because she discovered over time that those people were not her true friends. Even now she still tries to please people.

ugh i think she felt that way with Ray-J too
she has a lot in common with Toni in that aspect
"Open" captured the best phase of Bran's voice.

I just wish her experiences during 99-2001 was perched on an Alber

It was very personal. A lot of the things she sung about actually happened like on I Thought ("didn't I protect you when they were after you") woo ya'll just don't know.
I think because the relationship the album is based on wasn't publicized it may not seem personal like NSN and Afro. Full Moon was about her life behind the scenes which makes it more personal in some ways.

Yeah well in the aspect yeah ..
But I just know there was mess in 99/2000 left out..
She was so depressed and kinda shut herself out of the limelight .. Yeah she was doing Moesha but her spirit seemed down those years..

True. I fought Should I Go sort of addresses it in a roundabout way.
But maybe she was in a different space by time she recorded the album. Like for the next album I wonder if it will focus on her last relationship because so much time has passed and she's in a different place. The album she records now will be nothing like he album she would have recorded a year ago.

When Rodney said she cried it made so much sense. That song is fucking sad. I can't believe an 18 year old could do that.
Maybe she won't discuss these things on the new album, but who knows she'll talk about it in the book
So I took a listen to "Tomorrow" just now and I'm floored. I'm all on twitter just going in right now. It's my truth and it's just getting into my emotions which is something I never like to do.

Yeah. Too much time between the two albums. She was coming off a MAJOR era and left us for a lil too long.
I will NEVER forget hearing "Open" for the first time also. She completely had me wondering how and why she sounded so different but I LOVED it!
