I think that's what they're talking about

We had a HOST of famous big name black artists before
Ruling the charts and really owning the industry

Now it's not quite the same

I think the point was to show the black people who were really big names in music, then vs now.  Beyonc? is still a really big name in music, so she's on the right.  The "then" list, which I think is supposed to represent the 90s, has some artists that came out in the 80s in it, but they were still really big in the 90s.

I think that exactly the issue
We know that.
The fact that they aren't on the charts and dominating the industry is what we're TALKING about

Why does the fact keep getting overlooked

Sure there's a bunch of underground and indie artists with loads of talent

These type of memes are bait for silly debates. That was clearly the intention here
"This group of artists are so much greater than these" or "Look how far we've fallen musically"

I see BLACK EXCELLENCE on both lists. It speaks to how much influence and impact we've had on the music industry and CONTINUE (just look at the first 6 artistd on the NOW list) to have.

This is no different from those memes I see on my feed at least once a week of 4 squares with Janet, Mariah, Whit and then they throw in someone from a completely different generation who is STILL relevant like Beyonce, then ask "Who can u do with out?". Who do u think people will say?

Not about what I wanna do, it's about what's obvious :kii:
