Do you have a story about NA ancestry in your family? Whether you admit it or not, most African Americans do -- although according to
23andme's Senior Director of Resarch, Joanna Mountain, 80 percent of us have 0% of it in our blood. However, as you will see in the videos below, the fairytales aren't limited to our community. Most Americans have no NA blood, since Native Americans made up a small part of the population; but many claim it. Would you take a test to get a more concrete answer? These people had the balls to do so, and were even more courageous to share their disappointing results.

I bet most of these people claiming NA blood, don't know anything about them or their culture and just doing it to seem 'exotic'.

The funny thing is that when people think NA, the first thing that comes to mind is some Pocohontas-like tanned skin figure, with red lipstick, narrow nose and a skimpy skirt. But most of them didn't look like that. Not the black Natives. :plzstop: They had beautiful dark skin, different hair yes, but their noses and other mess was very similar to African features.

Do it, it's amazing to see which countries in Africa you originated from.
I was literally up all night last night researching West, Subsaharan and East Africa.
Connecting the dots is so fucking amazing; but it also has such a lighthearted, entertaining and fun element to it as well.

are "mixed" due in large part to the slave trade. Many African Americans have more Euro ancestry than they'd think. But no one wants to claim that (understandably), so some cling onto something that sounds more

These people clearly don't know the TRUE history that Indians had with blacks. Those people owned slaves and had no issues with hunting down runaways for profit. Sure there was probably a couple of groups who weren't hostile towards blacks, but the majority would scalp you in a second for a reward.

Many would hold claim to the fact that their ancestors were documented as being BORN ON Native American properties, but that means nothing in terms of actual ancestry. Many blacks were born into slavery on white owned properties; of course this doesn't automatically mean that they had European blood, unless of course it was a mulatto child conceived through slave rape.
But I can see how a person can genuinely be mislead by these types of documents. In those cases, at least their "story" actually has some sort of legal foundation, as opposed to pointing at pictures of their ancestors and just claiming heritage that they truly know nothing of, based solely on their appearance.
Documents can really be misleading, sometimes. Last night, I found a document from my maternal great grandmother and great grandfather's marriage. The document has him listed as "white". Now if I didn't know any better, by going off of this document one would come to the conclusion that my great grandfather was white.
He may have APPEARED to be white because of his heavy European blood, but I know for a fact through my grandmother that he was not a total "white man". So I was able to simply write his racial classification off as appearance based. But then again, that's what race is. However, I'm really thankful to have my grandmother around to ask these things, because she gives it to me straight.
