Mariah Carey's Top 40 Biggest Billboard Hot 100 Hits
Billboard takes a look at megastar Mariah Carey's biggest Billboard Hot 100 hits in honor of her birthday (March 27).
With 18 No. 1s on the Hot 100, Carey holds the record for the most leaders of any solo artist, second overall only to The Beatles (who hold the record with 20). Notably, she landed a No. 1 every year from 1990 through 2000, while her duet with Boyz II Men, "One Sweet Day," holds the mark for the most weeks at No. 1: 16 (starting Dec. 2, 1995).
Carey has additionally landed 17 top 10 albums on the Billboard 200, with six hitting No. 1. Her self-titled debut LP ruled the list the longest of her leaders, for 11 weeks beginning March 2, 1991.
Of her 34 Grammy Award nominations, Carey has taken home five trophies, including the 1991 award for best new artist. She is credited as a trailblazer for numerous female vocalists, with artists like Beyonc?, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and more having cited her as an inspiration.
Most recently, Carey confirmed via Twitter that her modern-day holiday classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You" will be adapted as an animated feature film set to debut this coming holiday season.
Up next for Carey in terms of new releases? "I'm not really sure," she told Billboard in February. "But I know that I can't stop making music."
In honor of Carey's birthday, here is a look at her biggest successes on the Hot 100.
