Bent's Thread got me to thinking and there are some really underappreciated singers out there.
Tho I do feel like People liked Brian Mcknight and know he can sing, I dont feel he is HIGHLY regarded as one of the great singers. Like, I cant see someone doing tributes to him at the BET awards in 2035
This performance was amazing. Brian really held his own LOLZ!

Yeah, Brian is one of the greatest voices indeed. He has sold millions and had a couple hit records, but he isnt acknowledged enough as a vocal great.

I never fully liked Deborah. To me her voice is a lil MEH! Watching that whitney movie, not ONE of those vocals moved me tbh
I only know somebody's supposed to be here tbh
But the climax wow no one ever talks about her
This nigga is still one of my favorite singers. This cd was really good and im sorry but this song is AMAZING and this definitely deserves a grammy. he needs to be nominated, beautiful song

Lisa Fischer, hands down. If her solo career would have lasted a bit longer, she would have been hailed as one of the greatest voices of her generation.

Brian is a beast! His brother, too.
Part of that is because true vocal talent as a whole is not really embraced anymore. When it rarely is today, it's usually by female artists. No male artists really keep vocal talent traditions alive, so no one pays tribute to or credits those older singers for their influence. SMFH. :stressed:

Haven't heard him in years. I first saw him on Kimmy Kimmel slaying vocals in his granny sweater and glasses. :stressed:
Mostly all the singers y'all are naming have had pretty good success. not every good singer will sell millions of albums consistently and sell out stadiums. The industry is way too competitive.

She only had one album. :loose2when:

She never wanted a full-fledged career as a singer. She opted to continue to be a background singer for Tina, Mick Jagger, etc.
At least she won a Grammy for this. I agree she's underrated among the greats.
