Mulatic? :uhh:
and I'm crying @ her thinking it's okay to say nigga cause Hispanics are a minority and viewed the same as black people :uhh: :uhh:
it's a regional thing, ALL the hispanics in NY say nigga. I don't think black people up here ever really cared because they live in the hood too and aren't really seen as being that different.
shes actually making sense in her own
clearly not very educated and sophisticated way
That was tough to watch
Yea, i don't care about Hispanics saying nigga. Sorry

!!!
I think someone has to be from NYC to understand.
:plzstop: :plzstop:
I understand why people are like :udontlookok:
Yea, I remember going to down south to visit relatives when I was real young and some mexican girl at a pool was singing along to a song and said it.
my cousins gave a " :guys: " and I was confused about why it bothered them.
She knows what she wants to say, but isnt articulate enough to figure out how. It really was a little hard to watch.

d
we know.
What I don't understand is what percentage does a person have to be before being considered black..
I stopped mid way through
Her voice annoyed me
But she wasn't lying
im kinda used to it all latinos i know used it
Yh I don't have an issue with her or any of them saying it.
She seemed so confused when her mentioned it.
Her father or mother is from Trinidad, if she's not black, then Alicia keys, Nicki Minaj, Tatyana Ali and I aren't black either.
Are you guys offended by MariahLynn saying "nigga"?
I'm looking at this girl and I don't see her as "black".
She gives me more J-Lo than Nicki
It's Vlad being ignorant and not knowing that black and Latino are not mutually exclusive.
Obviously Cardi, Fabulous, NORE, Christina Milian, Fat Joe & them can say it cause they are from the Carrebbean and are not white. The hip hop world is not scolding them.
I dare Cameron Diaz, Christina Aguilera, Eva Longoria, Pitbull to try it and continue with their career like it's nothing.

How do you know her her parent is?

That is a good point.
I still think, that if she didn't have that thick accent, she'd be considered light skin black. And again idk why it's a "either or" situation. Why don't people revoke Rashida Jones black card then.
Unless you argue the mix of Indigenous, African & European is to be considered a racial class of its own, all
most Latinos just fall somewhere in that spectrum.
Laz Alonso, Charlie Sheen... Latino doesn't have a look. Not all Latino people look like tan Italians with big butts.

She looks like a regular light skin girl to me and I grew up around hispanics.
But yeah them saying nigga doesn't bother me. Then again :shannonsmissing: I'm not really here for the girls who look like shakira or jlo saying it.

I get what you're saying. But Guess what Malcolm
Most people are just as ignorant as DJ Vlad. most people are not sitting somewhere reading up on the ins and outs of heritage and mess. They use their eyes.
I agree that it's ignorant in a sense but I just know how it works here. That's all I was trying to tell you. And ultimately that's what counts in real life - perception. That's what determines privilege and things you can and cannot get away with.
you and I love these chats about heritage and backgrounds and the intricate differences and mess. Most people don't care. Nnnnn
But how is it that the hip hop
community has a consensus of accepting Cardi, Christina Milian, and other PR/Dominican origin acts saying "nigga" but not the same acceptance for Mexicans or Argentinians saying it. The general public clearly somehow distinguishes between colored/mulatto Hispanics and others.
Otherwise Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato would be out here dragging lazy ass niggas, while Keke, Tinashe who are also Teenie bop but black get a pass.

I think most people innately feel this way. It's not them being Latino, but whether they look white-ish.
Joseline, Cardi could never pass as European Italian or Portuguese. Ricky Martin, Shakira etc could.

because here in NYC ..... Blacks and Puerto Ricans/dominicans have always had close bonds with each other . We are like family. Same neighborhoods ..shared culture ... Same challenges of poverty drugs etc
So when these rappers go out and rap about the life they've experienced it's real. It's not the same as Becky from the hamptons waking up one morning and deciding she Wants to "act black". I totally believe that cardi was out there beating bitchs asses just like she says she was bbbbbb the Latinas here get the fuck down. They're hood af.
And it's not cuz they know a black person and picked up on the lingo. It's cuz they lived that life in the hood.
I love my Dominican/PRs . :stressed: I can't explain the bond here in NYC. But you'd definitely have to be from here to understand it.
It's also their skin color and phenotype.
Rich and middle class blacks can also say it without repercussions, and the poorest most struggling white from the slums of NYC still isn't allowed to say nigga. You instinctively see the "black" in them (many PRs, Dominicans & some Cubans)
