Your thoughts?
I was literally about to make a post about BET making some sort of return to music showcase. Not necessarily a countdown show, but something for up-and-coming, less mainstream artists to use for live performances to introduce themselves to the public. Or where big artists can just promote. Kinda a mix of AOL Sessions/MTV: Unplugged/VH1's Artists You Oughta Know rolled into one.
I'm all for more music on tv, but I'm not sure if they can adapt it without tying it to social media somehow.
The thing about TRL is that big stars aren't as prevalent now as they were then. Random artists dropping by in the middle of New York was such a moment in pop culture. :loose2when:
Excellent
Wow
Cute but there's rly no need with all the videos at our fingertips now
But I would like BET to do something so the new/R&B artists have somewhere to perform
this should be good. i think it'll be easier for a trl reboot than a 106 & park one.
Interesting. TRL used to be a huge platform for artists and played a significant role in an artist's career.
MTV needed this, they always get a side eye for having a music award show on a network that only airs reality tv shows
And yeah you can always watch YouTube but the fun of TRL and 106 was seeing where your faves ranked against their peers
MTV recently revamped MTV's Cribs too.

The episodes will be available to viewers for 48 hours before disappearing into the ether.
MTV is finally ready to debut its first Cribs episode for the new generation -- and, yes, it's broadcasting the show on Snapchat, just like it promised last year. The reimagined reality show will offer sneak peeks of celebrities' houses on Snapchat's Discover platform, where each episode will be live for 48 hours before vanishing. As much as we'd love to see Mariah get in a tub in front of a camera again, MTV will kick things off on June 3rd by featuring DJ Steve Aoki's Las Vegas home. The episode will show his rare collector's items, custom-made playroom and pool, which is the deepest in the city.
The next episode airing on June 10th will feature professional skateboarder Nyjah Huston's LA pad, while the June 17th episode will show 2015 Superbowl MVP Von Miller's Texas-inspired house in Denver. Another thing to look forward to are the arcade machines and poker tables in Miller's tricked-out basement.
Good. We need it
Something was definitely needed but let's see what this gives..
