I feel bad for her. It's so easy to drag her but I can't imagine what it's like to be told that what you naturally are just isn't "acceptable".
Lots of Black women mask their natural mess in different ways.
People harp on her but she's far from the only Black woman assimilating for sales.
People love to write it all off as "styling" or " and I'm sure that's what Sevyn would say if she were asked. But it's definitely deeper than that.
In a world where Naomi is the longest working model and lupita bagging vogue covers. Sevyn just ain't the fuck cute. Stop making everything about acceptance and skin tones. Plenty of red bones that ain't the fuck cute either.

Did you read the topic title before you typed that, or did you just ZOOM in to my post
:udontlookok:
Even with the topic title. She's not in more cute in this "lighter" tone.
Maybe a jaw reconstruction and a chin reduction :letsmessfag:

I didn't say she was ugly or cute tho :udontlookok:
What I said was based off her experiences that she shared.
I just think it's easier to get @ her because her mess is more obvious maybe?
But this is what a lot of Black women do. Many try their best to erase or dilute their natural Blackness.
I understand why, so I try not to judge (unless I'm dragging Lil Kim for fucking points :woohoo: ).
I'm indifferent on her looks though.
Well in that case sevyn is deluded. Her skin tone is the only thing on her that's cute. Shame she's color struck seeing how light bright lyndriette is flopping for points too
Well, I'm sure people don't make it easy for her to love her skin.
Some of the words thrown around on here alone have the power to hurt someone's self-esteem.
Colorism is a real issue. But most of us would rather insult people on the basis of skin tone and seek to justify it by labeling it a "joke." We sacrifice so much for the sake of a kii.
Black people don't love black people. But black people want white people to accept them.
It's really sad :dead: I knew this was about her
Not this Blonde hair, are u kidding me
:melmel:
I really feel bad for her.
On the Breakfast club she was talking about how she contemplated suicide and when Charlemagne asked if she still wanted to, she was like "not today, I'm good today"
Like wow that's sad
I'm crying

No one is sitting around telling this girl that her natural self is not acceptable. Yes society says it subliminally, and especially in her career, but she has defied the odds. Clearly, this is on her and something that she ask for. No real Make up Artist going around putting on foundation that is 4 shades too light consistently on their clients. It is quite sad to be honest.
Maybe this is for the Faith remake
cut her some slack guys :guys:

I know we KI and stuff but it is really sad. Dark skinned black women really have it the hardest.
