Billboard can confirm rumors that rising alt-R&B sensation Khalid and Fifth Harmony star Normani Kordei are in the studio thinking of collaboration ideas.
A recent tweet from MTV hinted at collaboration vibes. Normani fueled the rumors when she responded to the tweets herself, and Khalid quickly followed with his own message of adoration.
According to his camp, Khalid met the Fifth Harmony singer a few months ago and the two became fast friends. She made a cameo in his video for "Young Dumb & Broke" and fans' exploded on social media. The pair knew a collab was the move.
"Me and Normani are like this," Khalid told MTV News. "So I was just texting her, out of nowhere, super last minute. I?m like, 'Do you wanna come to the video shoot?' and she?s like, 'Yeah, on my way.'"
"Khalid is such an important artist and a great friend," Normani tells Billboard. "He has something unique and special that only he can offer creatively. Excited to see what lies ahead when we connect."
