We just got called to leave immediately. I am supposed to return Wednesday but was told be prepared to be there for a few weeks.
They've never deployed all of us like this. There expecting almost 30 more inches of rain and the city is already under water.
The last time I was deployed it was for the Ebola outbreak and I stayed on that for 2 years.

I am contracted with military and other govt agencies (FEMA, CDC, Homeland, CHS) for special assignments that require healthcare personnel. Its more beneficial to contract with military than enlisting. A long with my paramedic degree I have certifications for advanced cardiac life support ACLS, pediatric life support PALS, basic life support HBLS and ITLS international trauma life support
I've only been deployed for natural disasters and outbreaks as of now. We have option to do long term assignments but I am just not comfortable going outside of the US right now
I have a full time job as well but only work 12 days a month so I have nothing but time

I love doing it. My mom has called me about 10 times already with questions. She was pissed when I took that Ebola assignment she said "I cant take care of you if you get that shit" but she didn't mind spending the money I was sending her

Some are at a stadium in San Antonio treating ppl as they bring them in and some of us are out near the flooded areas treating ppl as they bring rescue them out the water. We were moved today back to central location to be deployed possibly to New Orleans due to levees possible breaking.

Soon as I laid down we get called for emergency meeting and we all got sent to Florida. I won't post about what I saw in Texas bc I'm sure you guys seen the news.
