The left is her real tea.
The full moon mess had some extensions to add a bit of length. As the performance video posted. The right is another example of her adding a bit for some length.
It looked a lot more natural because Ghan before then typically had in braids.

my father thinks the same. lol
But chemical processing , by definition, is actually using products like relaxer, etc. which will actually CHANGE the texture of hair.
Conditioner and styling product simply defines what you already have. And makes sure you're not walking out of the house looking like you have a dry piece of mess atop of your head.
Some people think that conditioners and styling products can "change" your hair. It cannot. Which is why when people watch those "curly girl routines" and mess on Youtube, thinking they can just wet their hair, put some gel in it and get the same mess...end up disappointed. lol.

Deep conditioner should only be done once in a while....
Regular conditioning is fine. What kind you'd need all depends on your hair type....some people hate the whole 1,2,3,4 typing system because they feel its divisive but its actually very helpful.
But there are other factors which are important when choosing a product, such as the density of your hair. (how thick it is), etc. it's not all about "type". some people do get too wrapped up in that. and up with a birds nest on their head :udontlookok:

See I consider flat ironing to still be natural because it can instantly revert back to its natural texture when wet. It's doesn't chemically alter the texture it just flatten and straightens out the curls temporarily.
With me for example there are days when I don't feel like dealing with my thick curls.
Sometimes after I wash and condition it, I blow it out, then I separate it into parts, comb and oil each piece and wrap/twist it up over night and it's soooo cute and soft.
It's just in a more "pulled" state. But if I wet it it would go right back.
To me perms and texturizers are not natural.
I use natural products like coconut oil in my hair.

I see what you mean.
But when you go to search up natural haired women, you're gonna find women like you posted in the other thread. And the ones Jayden posted in there too. That is what the natural movement is.
No heat, no relaxers. These are two things that can cause the biggest damage to your hair. It's not meant to be cooked, or drenched in chemicals that are strong enough to blind someone. And it's the two biggest things our women have been using for the longest. They're just saying "no ma'am" to it now.
I'm sure you're not losing your mind with the heat though. A lot of the newborn natural sistahs were abusing those damn hotcombs and mess.

I'm just going to assume if you're 4C that it's thick.
if you were able to identify with that picture that means you have a thick head of hair.
OK. so what's really going to help you in your day to day is a good LEAVE IN conditioner.
a leave in conditioner is something you well..leave in, during the day. lol but it's not very thick like a wash out conditioner.
this is going to get rid of that dry look you have.
4C hair has a tendency to look just a bit dry even when it's moisturized, so I can only imagine what you're looking at if it's not properly moisturized.
here's the LEAVE IN Imma recommend for you.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BH92J2/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000BH92J2&linkCode=as2&tag=napturallycurly-20&linkId=FP2UIPIJMIU6MACV
your hair is very thick so it can take something that's a little thicker. don't be shy when it comes to applying it either. black hair, in general, regardless of "type" EATS UP conditioner. of any kind. it's so thirsty. lol :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop:
imma be back with my recommend' for ur wash out mess

that's the thing, a leave in conditioner ABSORBS into your hair.
its there to nourish it. think of it as sophisticated hair grease. :dead:
u can use it as much as you want, until you see a BUILD UP.
a build up occurs when you've gone too long without washing ur hair, but still using product.
you'd see some sort of white flaking, or ur hair may feel weird.
i always say hair has a mind of its own, a personality even. lol. it TELLS u when its time for u to wash it. you'll get signals, like when u find urself scratching ur head thru the day, etc. it's time to wash out.
this is when ur shampoo and regular conditioner is gonna come into play.
BRB with my recommen'.
hehe! (https://julianish.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/68vzl.gif?w=580)
I'm sorry but 2 inches had me CRYING
Imma suggest that you SheaMoisture it out all the way.
Shea is all about combating what you're tryna fight right now...dryness
ALL of their products lend moisture.
the problem with black people and shampoo is, we have to be careful of which ones we use.
if you have some Suave mess, or GArnier Fructis mess, throw it the fuck away , it's not for you. :uhh:
it's like like a black person using clearisil or something. or having a house without cocoa butter :udontlookok:
make sure you maintain focus on products which are made by us, for us.
start with Shea Moisture cocon' and hibis' shampoo.
unlike other shampoos, which clean by STRIPPING your hair. it still STRIPS ur hair to clean it....but tries its best to replace some moisture with all the oils that its DRENCHED in.

Follow it up with the conditioner. Be generous with application. your hair can take it.
VERY IMPORTANT
NEVER FUCKING WASH UR HAIR OR RINSE IT
WITHOUT PUTTING CONDITIONER IN IT AFTERWARD.
EVER. EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
white people have to watch how much conditioner and mess they put in their hair
because their hair is straight, the oils travel STRAIGHT down to the tip. very quickly. (think of someone just driving a straight shot, it's always the easiest road to travel)
whereas our hair has twists and curls, making the journey of the oils much tougher and more complicated. think of a road that has many twits and turns. it's difficult. and thats what product has to go thru when its in our head.
so hair loves it . leave ins, wash outs, its loves it all! LMAO! more more more

To me perms and texturizers are not natural.
fgghhhh wow yea. Mon flat ironed her mess so it ain't nat'

Who is this unknown gorl in my quotes
IMO natural is anything u can do to your hair without chemicals or any permanent changes. flat ironing is merely pressing your natural hair temporarily. And the photo of her I posted wasn't a weave. And Monica said she does her hair naturally and hasn't permed it in over 10 years

What I love about Queen is that she takes care of her own hair and doesn't rely on wigs or weave.
In just two years after chopping it off, she was able to grow it back long and healthy.
She slays and her hair is so healthy

cuz constantly MESSIN wit ur hair can cause sum craz' stuff to happ'n like breakage n stuff

and Jacob don't feel bad
it's a learning process.
this is my first time growing my hair.
it was much easier to take care of it when it was shorter last year:
i had a routine down
but as my hair grew longer i didn't change the routine
which made it look bushy, dry and undefined. giving bootleg rachel dolezal teas. :dead:
it took my best friend pulling me to the side and giving me a :udontlookok: to realize it was time to switch it up.
through a lot of trial and error i finally found a new routine that works for the new length.
i'm excited for u. i know its "just hair" but it means so much to us. especially as black people.
people think I did something extra spectauclar to it now
but if u look closely, these are my same springy lil bvys i had last year
they just got taller :stressed:
