She should but she wanted to play games with her career
Ciara, without a doubt, should have been bigger than Rih. That ship has long sailed but yea..
Ciara doesn't make good enough music to be on their level.
After hearing JACKIE, there's no amount of excuses or shoulda-coulda-wouldas that can defend that shit. And then to go around calling that your best work.
n
I agree Ci's music doesn't hold up to theirs

Ideally yeah, but I think the atl krunk sound dying off and her struggling to discover or stick with a sound that worked for her really kept this from happening.
Yeah, she should. IDK what happened.

unrelated to the topic tbh. But. kinda... what i've taken recently from Solange & SZA's recent success is you can go years of "flopping" but if you make an excellent body of work that the girls can connect to you'll win. of course a little bit of rebranding as well.

Ciara didn't have the right machine around her to help her successfully phase out of the crunk sound.
I know she prides herself on having creative control over her music, but maybe it's time to play label puppet for a bit and let someone else make the decisions.

Ciara?s dancing/stage presence for one. She was also a sweetheart and had way more personality than Rih during her first two eras. She because robotic after..
Honestly, the fact that Future executive produced her self-titled album was one of the best decisions she's made. That was her best commercially-focused product since Goodies :stressed: People always talk about how they don't skip one track on that album. And of course the success of Body Party exemplified this smart decision.

SZA and Solange prove to me that the critics and people love concepts. Solange played off of the social climate of BLM, and SZA is like the awkward black girl wearing her insecurities on her sleeve with strong songwriting. Plus, SZA is benefitting from the lane being wide open with both Beyonce and Rihanna being on break.
The lane is honestly wide open this year. I don't know what Teyana Taylor, Kelly Rowland, and a lot of other girls are doing. This is the perfect year to drop your best stuff, because people are thirsty for fresh blood. And streaming is in control of the charts right now.
If Ciara drops another uninspired chart chasing album half Urban/half Z100, she's a fool. Because the industry is set up right now for an artist specifically like her (Urban/hip hop leaning) to win if the music is right. If "Love Galore" can go Gold, Ciara can do it too. And it doesn't have to be compromised.

But honestly, I'm not expecting much. Before every release, the Cis sit around wishing on a star hyping up yet another flop era with horrible music. And then everyone sits around talking about the old days.

Glock, you're really sweet these days :young:
I love Ciara, but nah. Ciara hates touring and nothing brings her as much as her kids and husband. Instead of hustling and doing stuff in LA, she would rather be in Seattle supporting Russell. She took a backseat to have her work revolve around Russell. Now late 2014 and early 2015, single mom Ciara without a man distractions is when she was everywhere. Top shop, Cavalli, I Bet, Jackie, ICDT, Shape Magazine now she is all about family.

Ciara will be fine. It's my hope she solidifies a cohesive sound this era. She just has to produce that song that radio will eat up and everything will fall into place. She and her team have to be consistent though. Her writer's, producer's, management etc. She should also collaborate with a new creative director/choreographer. I love what she and Jamaica have cultivated in the past, but I'd love for her to work with Hollywood or something. Super hungry and talented choreographer's who'll offer fresh aesthetics.

perfect thread to post this in.
unrelated to the topic tbh. But. kinda... what i've taken recently from Solange & SZA's recent success is you can go years of "flopping" but if you make an excellent body of work that the girls can connect to you'll win. of course a little bit of rebranding as well.
im sorry but no one has anymore excuses for flopping hard. unless your work sucks flat out.
!!!!
!!!!!!!!

I also miss a bit of personality when it comes to Ci.
It's actually starting to come back.

Ain't no way
I think she got that off Wikipedia
well, do you have the figures hun? :plea:

I don't need figures.
No one in this thread believes that brick of an album pushed 300k.
Not even you.
No she shouldnt :dead:

Queen had it all
I?m praying that she just makes records that are her and genuine
She can win again.. and it doesn?t have to be on the level or Bey and Rih
Just be yourself .. and slay
Boom, Ciara winning period Musically would be a huge win for her. She Don't gotta compete with Hey and Rig, that's where she fucked up at thinking she wasn't doing enough and trying to play catch up.
300k SPS for Jackie isn't much and isn't inconsiderable. I Bet DID go Platnium.
And yeah fuck a "trinity" or whatever.
Ciara is a vet. All she needs is good music.

Like what's hard to understand. If she gets 2 solid hits this era, she can have a gold album.
I Bet actually sold 2 million SPS worldwide :oof:
sis shoulda had more anthems like ride
I kinda wish Super Turnt Up, Sophomore and Keep On Lookin got the single treatment right after Body Party
:stressed:
Sophomore still fuckin BUMPS!!! Ughhh with some sick choreo this could?ve been IT in 2013
:gorlonfire:
Yeah, um...

:suplol:
DivinAIDS wants my attention very badly
I need them to get a real mic
Fag hush, this isn't even your thread.
d
I used to think Ciara still had potential to turn it around even after Fan, Ci, Basic, but shit after Jackie gorl idk
I still don't know why she's hell bent on giving mid tempo crooning diva and won't give a real uptempo mess to make you move your fcking ass.
Like girl People went for Oh, 1 2 Step and Goodies not to hear you squeak And I

Super turnt up feat Kendrick or something( sorry queen that rap verse didn't pack that punch) should be been the next single after body.
And now that I think about it, Idk what she could've followed that up with. I'm fucking tired of the mid-tempo and uptempo fucking pop! Like girl how are you fucking know for dancing but you skip over the real mess!! Get yo ads on a hard hitting catchy melodic track and fuck that video up. We haven't seen a proper uptempo song from Ciara since Get up(or Like A Boy depending on who you ask). If that 1st single is mid-tempo, toss in the fucking towel.
