Title: HDD: YouTube to count on US albums chart

According to Bible insiders, Lyor ?Lyr? Cohen has closed John Amato by making him think he matters, and so YouTube streams?including user-generated clips incorporating music?will now, for the first time, be factored into the determination of the Top 200 album chart.

Makes sense tbh. Although I use Spotify for streaming, most people use YouTube to listen to music. I wonder if this means YouTube will become more lenient with their copyright rules?

I think this will help R&B/Urban acts to be honest. I can't tell you how many coons listen to albums and upload them to youtube.

Come through sales!!

iono bby

Look at a Bebe Rexha or Brad Bhabie vid view. Considered up n coming.

Pulling Cardi numbers and she?s #1. Then look at Uzi or 21 who are considered major acts.

This will hurt urban/hh/RnB imo

I mean we simply don?t have the numbers or streaming power

Yeah I thought so too. But it was just the hot 100 I think. But those streams count as a buy for a song right? Which counts towards a single album sale....this a mess.

I'm sorry too. But you have to see where I'm coming from.

If Bebe rexha and all these other girls getting 300 million + video views and you have keyshia cole and them barely scrapping 2 million views the pop girls will sell more.

When I said 20k I meant that the r&b girls stats would still look the same...

You don't need a billion dollar budget to make a good video.

Videos have just gotten boring and stale. Most ppl use YouTube because they are too cheap to pay for streaming. Engage us again into the actual videos.

It may appear so...
However, you have to consider the way people are consuming music these days

to be honest. they need to reallocate how many streams count as a sale. Its ridiculous that someone's album can be stream over a million times in one week and they are only getting 667 albums sale credit.

charts are about popularity and if some one is getting that amount of streams that's pretty damn popular.
