:sobusyjetsetter:
Whitney either
Or Nicki
And still shitting on every single one of her ?peers.? That in itself is a talent.
Like.. when you look at the numbers, Rih is kinda UP there along with Madonna, Mariah, Janet, etc. yet she's not involved in her craft as much as the girls I mentioned.

GODanna just has it.
She knows how to emote in a song and she's stunning to look at. I'm not surprised.
Not really. It?s been done before.
And honestly who gives a fuck? If the music is good, it?s good.
Ultimately I think the way she marketed herself sent her career going crazy.
Cuz honestly I thought Pon De Replay was one of those moments where we'd see another new artist jumping on a trend and never seeing them again.
But Goddess said not so fucking fast. :butwait!: And turned the heat up with Umbrella. She really brought the entire singer/model thing to the forefront. Before her , there really wasn't anyone walking around like a fucking model in their vidyas. And actually looking like one.

most of the main girls (madonna, whitney, mariah, celine, pink, bey, Diana, etc.) were able to have some of their biggest successes and eras in their 30's. Rihanna won't flop for a while lolz
you were also the same person that said Bey was the only girl that managed to snap her career back after pregnancy so idk why i'm even talking to you about anything of this nature rn actually lmao

Dead at this delusion. Bey has been here 21 years. Bey has reached the status where she never needs another hit again and can still sel out shows worldwide. The other girls can?t do it at the height of their careers in their prime years.
Beys impact reaches beyond music and fanshit.
Even beys songs who weren?t that big like Run The World (still platinum tho) go on to become cult classics. Can?t have a women?s day of women?s march without bey being front and cente as the reference point.
Let?s wait and see until there are some new younger girls truly popping before we can say that Rihanna will transition the same. So far nobody has come behind her.

That's YOUR opinion because I know tons of people that don't even think beyonce can sing and is overrated. Should I post Santana saying she can't sing? Wendy Williams saying she can't sing without autotune. Ur a fan and that's your perception not THEE perception. I would venture to say that Beyonce is about image more than anything. Yeah it's not all about #1's but it says a lot about her staying power. She's not a tour gor IMO. Because she's not that much of a performer. It actually makes sense.

yes, because this industry is super cutthroat and fickle
when Bey is pregnant and big, and relies on her vocals or other ways to entertain other than high energy choreo
do ppl stop stanning?
Was her Grammy performance where she did slow ass Love Drought and Sandcastles not the highlight of that ceremony?
Rih could never
Rig just got her big ass on the stage at the grammys and was praised for performing, won a grammy, and is excelling in literally ever venture she's trying at. U better hope Beyonce can do the same :kii:
Are you seriously doubting she can't do that and more?

that was Kendrick's song and she was slim when it was recorded and put out

lets wait and see if she does well as RIHANNA and fat
This was the most notable part of that performance btw

Barbra Streisand is one of many legends who have praised her
With opinions that actually matter in the industry
But Wendy
:plzstop:
All these opinions, but bey is the only 1 doing Madonna numbers on tour :ATLcameo:
U need to check some of these rock groups out that absolutely smash on tour each time they go out. That has jack shit to do with relevancy in music. U just said doing Madonna numbers on tour, but even Madonna cant sell a CD or song at this point. Y'all are in for a rude ass away :plzstop:
These rock groups that slay on tour. U2, rollingstones , Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Toto etc are all very relevant to the consumers spending their top dollars to be in the finest venues hearing hit music that aged well.
And Madonna doesn?t need to sell another cd in her life. She has 25+ years of hit records that fill up those seats and she outlived and outcharted all her peers. The girls with current chart toppers can barely fill up a theatre. Rihanna is struggling now on tour, now imagine when she reaches that age where radio stops fucking with her ...who?s going to be going to those shows?

It'll be interesting to see where Rih's career goes from here. It's funny how her team set her up to be an artist who needed to stay hot and trendy by constantly pumping out radio candy material to keep people invested. As soon as they slightly deviated from that path she started to struggle. It started with the extended break and her coming back trying to transition into a more mature artist. All that cranking out #1s back to back is pretty much done. Touring power dwindled, and although she's never been an Adele or Taylor album selling artist Anti still struggled the most saleswise out of all her albums.
You have to be careful with how you present yourself as an artist because when you try to grow and mature it can backfire on you. Look at what happened to Gaga & Katy.
That's why I'm glad Bey set her career up the way she did. She had a plan outside of trying to constantly please radio.
Rih seems to be transitioning into a mogul so she'll probably take a step back from tossing out albums anyway.

Boy
I wasn't talking about maintaining a peak. I was talking about having a plan longterm past popping out radio hits. Beyonce never deviated from anything. She put out an R&B record when the genre was 90% dead commercially and EDM/Dance was the new wave so her album suffered as a result.
Despite that it's still a grammy winning record that's practically double platinum. Mahority of the singles are platinum and even RTW is practically one of her signature records now. People sing every word in stadiums and the song is associuated with so many movements.
Now where are all the gurs who were putting out EDM & Dance? How did that work out for them?
:letsmessfag:
Black artists rarely write their own lyrics in my opinion.
Dua Lipa, Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill and Britney do though.
And the fact you have to bring up 2 privileged white bitches is a kiiii in itself

Love 'fas but if she managed to pull thru GODanna can as well. Easily.
GODanna will be fine. Each era, she always manages to release at least one song that becomes inescapable. And hits that #1
Yeah it's not all about #1's but it says a lot about her staying power. She's not a tour gor IMO. Because she's not that much of a performer. It actually makes sense.
Talk That Talk is a fucking bible and Loud is my mess from start to finish, but I wouldn't pay hundreds to see goddess shimmy across a stage somewhere. sdnsndsdnsdn
As an artist overall, she slays though.
That number 1 bullshit is for the birds.
Go check Stevie Wonder, Michael, Whitney, Madonna etc era?s and there number ones stopped quite early while they kept thriving.
Mariah and all her number ones ended up being a Vegas show girl.
Bey is in a whole other league and has outlived all her peers. The last 1 standing was Justin and he seems to be done now too.
'fas is the most legendary to me. But saying GODanna doesn't have another chance at huge success that she's seen before is really a reach.
When she decides to drop the weight, get back into model mode and slay the scene, the gorls will gag all over again. Trust.
I didn?t say anything about her chances.
Well the whole point of my post you first quoted was regarding her chances, love. Of pulling through at this point. I assumed that's what you were challenging. :shannonsmissing:
Well let?s skip the pleasantries and get straight to meat and potatoes.
You got quoted for bringing bey into this bullshit.
Gotta stop you right there.
I didn't introduce 'fas into this convo.

You keep going on and on about Adele & Taylor. They've outsold albums put out by MJ & Madonna and it means nothing. Album sales are a indicator of popularity. They have nothing to do with respect or how seriously people take you as an ARTIST.
Adele sold her albums and everything after "Hello" fizzled out. Taylor sold 80% of her era in the first week and hasn't managed to make a single song stick.
I see why you stan for Rihanna because you seem to think a #1 single or any form of chart success makes you some type of legend or serious artist. :uhh: :dead:

Rih seems to be transitioning into a mogul so she'll probably take a step back from tossing out albums anyway.
jkjjjjjjn but ummm
What artist stays at their peak for their entire career? Bey experienced a decline when she deviated from her usual mess. I just think it?s unrealistic to think any artist will forever be on top.
g
I get what you're saying but I feel like rih has definitely grown into more of an artist over the last few years. Love on the Brain wasn't a huge hit, but rih made a moment with that song and proved she could really hang with the girls outside of her more generic songs. And I cant just compare rih to all of the other pop girls because she has actually put out quality material over the past years, but I could be a bit bias because she's black.
Vonc and Taron were stomped the fuck OWT in here :feelinmyself:
A moment is cute but she needs to make it last. Anti is a good start because sometimes I revisit Rih's discography and I'm like......I see why she doesn't perform alot of her old mess. Alot of it is basically like a black version of some Katy Perry foolishness.
I definitely side-eyed her when she came out with that Bon Jovi tea but scrambled and went back to her old formlua when her team saw it wasn't gonna be another #1 instant smash. It's like at this point in your career you're still concerned about radio playing your mess and being seen as "hitmaker" fgf.
We'll see where she goes in the future.

Black artists rarely write their own lyrics in my opinion.
Dua Lipa, Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill and Britney do though.

Um that is her second weakest era
Are you retarded
IDK about her being done but Marg brings up a good point.
Rated R probably wouldn't exist and who knows how the other albums would've turn out.
She definitely wouldn't be "badgirlriri" today if none of that mess ever happened.
Not her calling herself badgalriri after getting her ass beat ccvccbvccccccccccc gangsta!
