The ambiguous post has fans salivating at the sheer possibility that the XO crooner is ready to drop a new record or album, considering Friday is the day new music is traditionally released.
Sources tell Billboard that The Weeknd is in fact working on new material. "This project is Abel taking it back to his roots," reveals our source.

Dubbed his magnum opus, The Weeknd quickly gained a legion of fans and devotees because of the mixtape's melancholic lyrics and seamless production. Last week, TMZ reported that The Weeknd was spotted in California shooting what appeared to be a music video for a new single.
