Long as I've been on this earth, this is the worst decade of music ever to me. I haven't bought many albums this decade as I have before.
I liked the beginning of this decade when pop was running shit. Idk why but it felt like we got more moments earlier this decade than in recent years.
I'm all here for Rap/R&B making a comeback but I feel like with the exception of Kendrick, none of today's rappers and R&B singers are really making an effort to have a MOMENT or an EVENT.
It seems like everyone nowadays just wants to release as much music they possibly can in the shortest amount of time.
I miss the days when eras were LONG and when artists used to go everywhere to promote, but I guess all that is now not needed due to social media and the Internet.
Sad.
n
it's so weird that I only listen to music from the 90's and early 2000's

this decade has been just as good/bad as the previous ones objectively :dead:
We're all just getting oldr. Music is constantly evolving but we'all doomed to get stuck in a certain era of it, probably 90's/00's R&B for most of us.
The first half of the decade was dire. All this LATE EDM-infused pop.
Things have been a lot better since Hip-Hop and R&B became popular again.

This is true, but
pop culture in 2010-2014 > pop culture in 2015-2018

Yeah, but same could be said for the Eurodance wave of the late 80s/early 90s or the shitty boyband craze of the early 00's
There's always a doze of the cringiest music available for every decade and this one is no exception, the 10's also have introduced us to lots of talented, artistic people but most of their genres appeal to younger demographics and we're still stuck with good ol R&B which represents to the new gens what neo-soul was to us, that is a late, obscure genre for the "luvahs/grown ups", not to mention its only played on adult contemporary stations with minimal visibility on mainstream media outlets :stressed:
I think that's why most of us feel so alienated in this current music climate.
