I think her music gives me strength, it's the timelessness probably. Idk why, but I don't get sad when listening to her music. But everyone is different.

It hurts if i think about that era and certain memories that are tied to it for sure. I feel robbed because she was becoming my favorite over everything and everyone

Tbh I still communicate with her Spirit so it's like she's still alive to me sometimes.

But interacting with other Aaliyah fans usually does the trick because you know you aren't alone. There are so many fan pages for her all over the Internet. Her presence is still felt.

All we can do is honor her memory.  Thankfully, her music is timeless.

But I miss her.  :loose2when:

Well, if you weren't a super fan of Aaliyah before she passed, then obviously her death probably didn't affect you as much. She died when most of us were really young, so we lost a huge role model. She was a good role model.

I can legit remember that day from beginning to end like it was yesterday, so I will listen to her music heavily for a while and then take a break from it.

Me too. I remember exactly where I was, how it felt, and how it all went down when I heard the news of her passing just like it was yesterday.

I was at the gas station and my mom was freaking out talking about "they said Aaliyah died!"  :uhh: But I was like "No way, they are probably playing a prank" because the station we were listening to was real goofy, but then they said she died in a plane crash and that's when I knew it was real. It didn't sink in until we got home and they were talking about it on TV.

It felt weird having her posters on my wall after she passed because realistically I knew I would never get to see her or hear from her again. I couldn't listen to her music for years tbh.

The only thing that did change for me is I accept her legacy for what it is
I don?t expect anything anymore
No movies no new music
The red album is kind of timeless and I know she was proud of it.. same thing with Amy?s Frank & B2B
The albums they released are better than unreleased songs anyways..
