I keep trying to start this show and stopping. I hate the way the characters talk. I'm going to try again today, because I really enjoyed the girls on The Breakfast Club.
I had no idea the main character was the girl from Hit The Floor. :omf:

The show is kinda built on theatrics
Its a unique drama/comedy
Yeah they have a more theatre type of acting style where they seem like they're acting for the people in the nose bleed seats.
I don't mind it though.

Yeah.
I see! It kinda caught me off guard. Like, some of the dialogue is a little unbelievable for me. But I'm going to try and at least make it through the first episode. Sometimes, that's the hardest episode when starting a new show.

I'm glad you and Ton are pointing this out. I thought it was just me.
I started the show like, "What the fuck is this?" :uhh:

Yeah that kind of acting can be jarring for people who aren't used to it. I've done theatre and even I hate it sometimes, but it works best with comedy because comedy is supposed to be over the top.
Sometimes it doesn't really go with dramatic acting because subtlety is not something that type of acting relies on.

It has the potential to be one of THE biggest black shows for this generation
But it has to KICK IT UP a notch
right now the plots are very predictable. but its a very good show nontheless
its well written story and the characters have depth and are extremely relatable
Literally, any young black person can see themselves in at least 1-2 of the characters
i hope it can make it 5-6 seasons on Netflix

Yeah that's why I used.
Usually when I watch a black show I can only relate on the surface level cause I understand the cultural references.
This is one of the first new generation black show where it's like oh wow I know real people like that!
