Can someone confirm this once and for all ?
No when that album came out bran was busy with 2 movies and a hit album
I read somewhere that it is Brandy but that her label (Atlantic) didn?t want her listed as a background singer and wanted to market it as a duet.
Oh lord

I think I read on the Whitney board that Brandy may have background vocals on a couple songs on the MLIYL album, but uncredited. Darkchild did produce songs and there and it kinda sounds like her on that song.
As a matter of fact, it sounds like I heard some Bran background vocals on Whitney?s ?I Bow Out?.
Lmao a messs yawl thought she was on tonis he wasnt man enough
Clearly darkchild has a preference
It sounds alot like her and its Whitney, wouldn't be surprised

Nah this sound too much like Brandy .. The vocal credits are innacurate and If you listen carefully in the intro after Rodney says Whitney he whispers Brandy. I agree with Seven that there were issues with this duet and maybe administrative problems with negotiating the agreement, especially since Brandy was so big at the time. And Atlantic is greedy as fuck.
That vibrato is not Brandy. nah
it gives that vibe and Rodney liked giving that sound of course after working with Queen but I?m not hearing it. These backgrounds give me Chante Moore, more than anything else. very clean but no pizazz and Brandy?nese
Rig is right
Yea maybe she was supposed to do it
cuz these girls are definitely trying to give the nasally light NSN tone
but it?s not Bran
Oh yeah this ain?t bran
This is that Toni girl

Atlantic is the reason we never got that Cinderella soundtrack.

I?m looking at my booklet right now and she is only listed as one of the songwriters. Apparently, there are versions where this Sharlotte Gibson is credited with background vocals on this song, but in mine it only credits Whitney. Could?ve been a label dispute perhaps...
I didn't hear him whisper Brandy, tho. On the song. What time frame?

Hold on, hold on. Lol.
He may have heard it. Giving the benefit...
It was also said on that board that there was an unreleased Whitney/Brandy duet somewhere out there along with other Whitney music...not sure what to make of that...
N
It doesn?t even come close to Brandy?s tone.

someone is emulating her
I?m thinking maybe it was a demo to pitch to bran and they just kept this girls vocals on it
She got the Melismas down but her opening approach to the lines are telling
*you
I thought it was Nora Payne. She did BGVs for Britneys Satisfaction, Toni's He Wasn't Man Enough and ironically co-wrote What About Us and Full Moon.
I think Brandy would be bragging about this song every now and then if that were the case. So no.
!!!
Like Usher talked about how Whitney put him on the backgrounds of ?Something in Common?
and kinda vocal produced him

first of all, the backgrounds would be stacked for dear life and that tone would be indisputable Sndndnd these basic backs

It?s Toni E
And the rest you hear are some of the members from that 6 piece girlgroup she had called Sunday.
Toni is the main back up singer on this album n def on all the Rodney songs.
:uhh:and you call yourself brandy fans?
I always thought it was Rhona, who was singed to rodney back in the day,

She was signed to him.
Rhona and his Wife. They both flopped.
It was that Toni girl. She did a lot of backgrounds in the 90s just like Debra Killings.
