Gaga was kinda the last to really switch things up and give an MJ/Whitney mega star phenomenon mess...
I honestly think the times of huge pop stars might be over. There is no mystique, and also their is no more power in media, everybody just listens to what they like, it is almost impossible to reach each and everyone at once, if you are not established...
I just don't see Tinashe, Megan Trainor or Sevyn ever being a "mega star"
Times are changing, guys.
:stressed:
But Adele..
Gaga was such a trendsetter :young: :stressed:
Maybe when there's one that doesn't suck
The internet and social media changed everything.
I think Drake and Adele are superstars.

But Adele..
She came out the same time as Gaga, and she doesn't really embody superstar to me. She is moreso Sade, Norah Jones-y. Huge seller but not like Pop superstar like Britney.

A pop superstar is a popular artist that is apart of Pop culture.
That she is. Not seeing the Sade and Norah Jones reference. :mmywheresddy:
yh Adele still is not NEW, so she does not count.
Drake is a superstar but he also came out during Gaga times.
I would say a superstar is someone who has it all: voice, look, moves, creativity

People don't really faint for or stalk Adele. She does not really fit the description.
And even if she did, she does not fit the thread because she's been established since 2009.
Of course there will be another. Won't follow the same formula but there will be another
Adele is no ones pop superstar
No. Majority of these so called new acts suck
I think the better question is will there be another Black superstar

vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvhhhhhhhhhhhv;
Each generation has its 1-3 superstars. The next decade will have another superstar, we just dont know who will be and what will be his/her style/sound, but it will happen, just like each era/decade had its superstars, that wont ever change.
huh

I can't. Music was best in the 90's and early 00's
I don't even know who half these new artists are out here. :dead:
well, all you did is name flops with no star power :dead:
of course there will be. there just wont be a bunch at a time. There always be a new girl that catches everyones attention and catches on. I mean ... Adele didn't slay until like 3 years ago lol

vbbbbbbb
Megan Trainor is the only platinum selling artist you mentioned
I kinda think Tinashe is on her way somewhere
If Dawn was lighter skinned she'd be well on her way too
I understand what your saying. Adele doesnt really have that iconic hold on pop culture though she sells well.
There will def be another pop superstar. I just think their turnover rate will be much faster. I dont see artist really sustaining 4 decades with #1 albums in this day and time. You'll have your Gaga/Beiber moment and be pushed aside.
To much focus on youth and marketing and not art. Same thing is happening in the fashion industry.
