yes its a black cast but not a black story you are supposed to see past their skin color like you do with the white ones and enjoy the film for what it is
but
to say that this is the prequel to the purge and all these blacks are involved is kind of odd considering the subsequent purges (after prequel) didnt involve them too much
I thought the trailer was just highlighting those parts with blacks not realizing the whole cast is black
but i like the fact that the blacks are standing up against it in this movie much like history books we get the short end of the stick
the fact that its quality is questioned because the cast is all black speaks volumes to how we view ourselves in film
this franchise has been successful and quality thus far and without a very well known white cast might i add
so it was never star studded but hey its just some niggers right that means its automatically some section 8 mess to some

Yeah it's just a black cast because of the the plot
But it's not a black version of the series
Can't believe I'm agreeing with Lew :omf:
We're always saying we want more POC in Horror/Sci-Fi films and this looks good!
Not seeing it and not clapping
Im interested. The premise makes sense. If some shit like the purge goes down for real who do you think they'll be after?

the first one was surrounded by the rich whites tryna get into their neighbors crib for a black man
There?s sum underlying MESS here .. I think
Hmmm
I can?t suppport this
Why couldn?t the blacks be the professionals tryna kill the locals

... that actually makes sense to me tho Lew
we don't know the full premise yet, but like Bre said... if they started a Purge today, what would spark it?
I mean they already halfway are Purging us between cop shootings and schools
what we see with the Blacks in this movie might actually explain the lack of blacks in the later films. Might be dead or imprisoned.
and a civil rights/race-minority riot theme actually goes along perfectly with the premise of Purge, even more than the first one. I was actually wondering what sparked the actual "Purge"
you never know how deeply a screenwriter thinks about these things, and it could be a reflection of the beginning stages on what's happening in America
QuoteThe Republican will run for reelection in three years time and believes he has the perfect hook to re-ignite the passion of his voters: "Keep America Great" - the tagline of 2016 horror film The Purge: Election Year.
When asked what the slogan would be, he told The Washington Post: "Are you ready?" 'Keep America Great,' exclamation point.
"Get me my lawyer," he adds in the recording before telling someone in the room to trademark the line.

Not willing to pay to see it, ya know?
No I didn?t see the last one
I?m too good to watch tbh
King...
If you wanna break it down the ENTIRE franchise is offensive
The first movie -- a black man is the main target and oh WOW! white people are the saviors and save him
The 2nd -- Not many black deaths tbh, I don't remember any unless they were extras
The 3rd -- Literally EVERYONE is black or latino 'in the hood' and they kill each other
The 4th -- Seemingly, blacks are DEFENDING themselves due to minorities being an obvious target of the entire thing
If you fags are gonna protest, never watch the first 3 ever again :usureuok:
Yeah king
I said that
Now that I?m older I?m def not supporting this shit
Unless ylan agrees to fucking me
