Sis says that her whole i ndependent thing started because
Liberation released (as scheduled) in japan
When she wanted another pushback last minute
Now that can be an honest mistake or the label being shady but
Sis had ridin and lock u down featuring lil wayne and no one gave a flying fuck
The album was released and made its way to usa servers and still no one gave a fuck
So shes blaming the record company because her album wasnt winning ppul over and got shelved?
They said u could fight it or go independent
What is there to sue the label on?
Why not repackage the album for the usa? And come with an early 08 release
Why is that a cue to go independent
Loving this thread
She was suing for the back end of her advance.
She put her own money into making Liberation (studio time/sessions, videos, production) she arranged everything herself. Same with Moodring. She takes her passion for creating music seriously. She took the initiative.
She opted to go indie because why continue to be signed to a major label where you're doing everything yourself and the label cutting into your percentage as well.
The indie route has been a blessing for her. Mya started as an indie artist so it's in her roots.

Can u exlain the back end
If the gave e it to her and she used it whats left
Or is it a reimbursment of what she spent without an advance

I dont think she had a case for back end imo lmao
I don't think she did either, tbh which is why her lawyer smartly advised her not to go through with it.
ugh I hate the way she talks. She needs to pick a volume and stick to it!
