The student is right under the preface that the questions asks how many games IN ALL and not how many games does Myles have. It didnt specify who's total we want. It states games in ALL. Two people were mentioned. Two totals. 6 and 7 is a TOTAL of 13 games IN ALL based on the integers mentioned in the question.
Can easily be confusing for a child though.
