Tyra pushed herself out the game when she gained weight and the designers said bye :young:

Please stop painting Naomi to be Maya Angelou or something.
When did she terrorize Tyra? :kii:

Beverly Peele disproves that theory, she was actually nicknamed "Baby Naomi" back then and was booking more high profile gigs than Tyra, more high fashion work and was hot on Naomi heels, all that and they were still good friends :dead:
Why has she always been great friends with Iman and Grace Jones?
Tyra is just OTT and off-putting and Queen didn't use and Tyra felt a way about it  :tellmemoreireallycare:

Tyra has shared her experiences regarding Naomi plenty of times.

There was a whole damn special on it on the Tyra show. :omf:

I highly doubt that Naomi was embracing of her and she just suddenly decided to paint her out to be a bitch.

Especially considering Naomi's history with other people which included flying phones. Where's there is smoke, there is fire.

Naomi has never had an issue with other models, which is what we're talking about here especially bigger black models :dead:
More models have an issue with Tyra than they have with Naomi
Tyra is just extra and pissed she met her idol and her idol didn't reciprocate that love back.

Cuz neither Iman or Grace Jones were the hot young new Black girl on the Black.

They weren't calling Tyra "Baby Naomi". They were giving her a lane of her OWN and that woman couldn't take.

So she lashed out like the bitch she is. I believe Tyra.

You'd be more offended than flattered if someone was called the "younger version" of you if you were a bitch like you say she was.
It was the 90s and there were a SLEW of black models who were all carving out there own lanes like Tyra and none of them had an issue with Naomi. :dead:
Naomi just doesn't use Tyra's grating, obsessive narcissistic, constant need to be validated and celebrated personality and that's it.

Yeah - it's pretty common for people to do that following a traumatic experience in their youth.

Even more reason to believe it happened.

Oh? Thought 'omi was here for her people

Which one is it. Is she Mother Love or a damn BITCH who picks and chooses who she is nice to
She's here for her people, just because she wasn't UP Tyra's ass the way she wanted her to be doesn't negate the fact she's here for championing black people in the industry.
When has Tyra ever gone out of her way to speak up for the younger black models?
Does she mentor any female young models? Is she risking her relationship with designers by calling them out to case black models? When was the last time Tyra went to African Fashion Week, promoting African designers and publications?

Naomi has been vocal about her people since the early 90's

Very Mandela of her.

But she's been championing her SINCE then, Tyra is the only one with negative things to say 20 years later.

QuoteThe tragic tale of Donyale Luna
The world's first black cover girl, Donyale Luna overcame deep prejudice to land a stellar modelling career. Then it all ended just as suddenly as it had started. Ben Arogundade takes up her tragic story.
http://fashion.telegraph.co.uk/news-features/TMG9658276/The-tragic-tale-of-Donyale-Luna.html

QuoteTo kick off Black History Month, we honor the heiress of avant-garde. She?s been referred to as ?the reincarnation of Nefertiti?, was the muse of Salvador Dali, and was the first Black supermodel to ever grace the cover of a fashion magazine. We introduce to you, Donyale Luna.

And even Beverly knows to BOW
QuoteBethann Hardison, another prominent figure in fashion history spoke of Luna saying ?no one looked like her. She was like a really extraordinary species.? Beverly Johnson, the first Black model to grace the cover of American Vogue pays homage to Luna for paving the way for models of color, noting that she ?made it possible for models like me and others?, including Naomi Campbell and Bethann Hardison. But Johnson also poses the question of why Luna?s name has gotten lost in fashion history: ?Why don?t we know her name? Because we don?t have people writing her story?.

Just returning the same energy
I never said Bev' was a stranger to Time and you didn't ask for an article from Vogue themselves that recognised Luna, which I posted  :dead:
The whole Footnote! article! thing was your way of trying to spilt hairs :dead:

QuoteWhile Beverly Johnson is celebrated as the first black model to grace the cover of American Vogue, just eight years earlier in March 1966 Luna was featured on the cover of the publication's British edition--thus making her the first black woman to appear on the cover of any Vogue magazine, period.

Now find an article from VOGUE that actually recognizes the slut. :omf:
Whatever, I posted something from VOGUE that stated Donyale as their FIRST black cover girl.
Article, sentence, paragraph, telenovela what fucking ever, she did it first and Vogue recognizes THAT.

SET the trends and influence the girls Queen

ACKA!

Quote? She was one of those legends in our industry; one of the shoulders I stood on,? Johnson said.

She recalls they were once at the same industry party in New York. While Johnson doesn?t know if they even spoke, she remembers seeing Luna. ?She was an exquisite beauty. She was an ethereal, beautiful creature floating around the party. . . I remember she didn?t have shoes on.

?She?s a fascinating character,? Johnson said. ?I wish I?d gotten to know her.
