Backstreet Boys are heading for their first No. 1 album in 18 years on the Billboard 200 chart, as industry forecasters expect their new studio set, DNA, to bow atop next week?s tally. Those in the know suggest the effort could earn more than 200,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Jan. 31. DNA was released on Jan. 25 via the Boys? K-BAHN label via RCA Records.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the Feb. 9-dated Billboard 200 chart (where DNA may open at No. 1) is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard?s websites on Sunday, Feb. 3.

DNA?s sizable first-week sum will be powered largely by album sales, mostly from those generated by a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with their upcoming U.S. tour.

The album was led by the single ?Don?t Go Breaking My Heart,? which reached No. 18 on the Pop Songs airplay chart last August, marking the group?s first top 20 hit on the tally since 2005?s ?Incomplete? peaked at No. 8. The Grammy Award-nominated track also reached No. 9 on the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart -- BSB's first top 10 ever on the chart.

DNA?s new single, ?Chances,? holds at No. 19, its peak, on the newest Adult Pop Songs airplay chart (dated Feb. 2).

Assuming DNA hits No. 1 on the Billboard 200, it will mark the Boys? 10th top 10 album, third No. 1, and first leader since Black & Blue spent two weeks atop the tally in December of 2000. The group also led the list with Millennium, for 10 weeks, in 1999.

Other albums heading for notable debuts on next week?s Billboard 200 chart include Bring Me the Horizon?s amo, Boogie?s Everything's for Sale and Bethel Music?s live set Victory. Plus, Weezer?s self-titled release, also known asThe Teal Album, could vault into the top 10, after the covers effort debuted on the Feb. 2-dated chart at No. 47 from one day of activity. The surprise-released set arrived on Jan. 24, the final day of the previous tracking week.

NSYNC >>>>

But I think Joey and Chris are way too sloppy these days to really get things back. Wouldnt mind a NSYNC reunion. Girlfriend and Gone alone >>>>> BSB's entire corny ass catalog.
