Her voice is so grating and cringeworthy. Why is she singing "Ease on down the road" with this Idina Menzel tone? Not an ounce of soulfulness

I think some of you are missing the point and the casting..
she's taking on the role that Diana Ross made famous.
Diana is no one's AMAZING singer, so why would they cast someone that gives Jennifer Hudson?
