Today (June 25), the RIAA announced that the soundtrack for the 2018 film A Star Is Born is certified double platinum in the U.S. Additionally, A Star Is Born is the biggest selling album of 2019 thus far in the U.S.

Released by Interscope Records, the album sold over 6 million copies globally and over 2 million equivalent units in the U.S.

The film's soundtrack debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's hit single "Shallow" peaking at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March 2019.

A Star Is Born marks Gaga's third RIAA-certified double platinum album, the second being her 2011 album Born This Way.
