Title: What's the end goal of focusing on angry racist posts from Whites on Twitter?
Post by: herbie on July 08, 2019, 01:44:15 PM
(And other social media platforms)

Are we looking to silence them in some way?

Do we take the time to report these posts and try our best to have them deleted?

If so, do we also send followup emails or letters to these corporations demanding that they take action by developing new rules which would prohibit such activity, or developing bots that would weed them out automatically (by using keyword detection, etc.)

Or is it all simply to have something to chat about?
I genuinely want to know. What is the end goal? What do we look to accomplish with this...

I've said this many times, focusing energy on racist posts only adds fuel. Say what needs to be said and move on..

All of it is essentially pointless and will be a forgotten story in two weeks

And the "racist backlash" is usually overstated, five or six racist tweets from a few trolls doesn't mean the KKK is about to start bombing movie theaters

There is nothing wrong with discussing it either. It could spur action from someone who may be unaware etc... you never know where help will come from.

And everybody don't have to be doers for activism or movements etc. That isn't everybody's mission once they're place on this planet. Just as long as they stay out the way. Quit putting that expectation on everyone.

I mean ...

after a days work of raging owt, they usually just end up with a viral meme or getting ppl fired from Wendy's and department stores .... an occasional school official gets booted

and I guess that does make a difference

but it does seem like efforts could be more focused. We need a MLK type figure tbh

twitter is poppin, and then the excuses you hear about not going to the polls, or being self-sufficient are exhausting

you can't fight a system that you're ultimately dependent on. that's why they're even able to pander to blacks, and perch Kamala with a rack of ribs and a bottle of fckn hot sauce. Cause that's what they think of you.

the product rage owts get redundant to me too. that's why I didn't blame Floyd when he was perched in Gucci, he was just skipping the outrage part of the process :dead:

"oh! boycott this company, the janitor made racists comments" um ... ok ..so we gonna boycott this white, just to go support that white.... until we find out this white calls his 12 yo daughters black friend a field monkey behind closed doors. Then we'll have another rage owt with that one. Cause I mean instead of organizing the second rage owt, we could have rallied and agreed to only purchase black product and never have to rage owt again.

And why in the hell do we really need these exposures to figure out the majority of white people display racist behavior behind closed doors, it's always a fckn shock .. why :uhh:

But to each his own, I'd say there's nothing wrong with sitting around and pointing out injustices, and there's also nothing wrong with doing everything in your power outside of 200 characters to change it as well.

Biiiish!! My point exactly!

Boycotting Gucci and Dove for their blatant racism. Only Versace and Neutrogena from now on!
