Title: Christina recorded B2B's "Here To Stay" 100 times for 6+ hours straight.
Post by: Mel. on December 01, 2015, 10:40:10 PM
thought this was an interesting fact
and shows how much of a perfectionist she is

Christina's engineer

Quote
That said, it?s sometimesmuch more. Christina Aguilera?s song ?Here to Stay? was compiled from 100 different takes. ?She sat on the stool and sang the song for six hours until it was done?didn't leave the booth once and didn't make a single phone call,? engineer Ben Allen said inan interview with Tape Op magazine.

Claude Kelly chimes in

"Always that meticulous in the studio, frankly. A pro. Most aren't that dedicated."

maybe...
but the fact that she's really taking time with this new album
shows me that she's really invested in this album and trying to come up with her best work

it doesn't seem like it was that long ago but "Lotus" came out in 2012, we're going into 2016
I feel like this album is gonna be something special

Maybe this is why her voice always sounds so strained and crunchy these days

I find it very funny when I see comments about her throat, voice, etc...
but as long as I've known her and I've known her for a LONG time

She's never had to cancel shows because she had voice or throat issues.
meanwhile, people like Ariana, Sam (although I LOVE him), Adele, etc...cancel shows left and right
because they had vocal hemorrhages, throat issues, etc...

Christina is clearly doing something right if her voice is still holding up for this long without all that.

meanwhile Ariana stay on vocal rest and canceling shows
because she does more than voice can obviously handle.

you're just trying to be shady.

he didn't say she needed to do it 100 times. she WANTED to do it that many times
to get the best result. there's a difference.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't take her 100 times because she can't get it right.

i dunno its quite simple.. it took it her 100 times to get it the way she wanted it yes.. so that means she couldnt get it right the first second or 3rd try...

it took her ONE HUNDRED times till she got it the way she wanted it..

no wonder this new album is taking YEARS  :raycharles2urmess:

uh, no.

it means she respects her craft and wants to get the best take possible.
and actually takes the time to craft the song the way she wants it unlike some singers

Im not sure "100 different takes" means she sang the whole song 100 times. She may have punched in 100 times.

but as long as I've known her and I've known her for a LONG time

She's never had to cancel shows because she had voice or throat issues.

meanwhile, people like Ariana, Sam (although I LOVE him), Adele, etc...cancel shows left and right
because they had vocal hemorrhages, throat issues, etc...

Christina is clearly doing something right if her voice is still holding up for this long without all that.

Im not sure "100 different takes" means she sand the while song 100 times. She may have punched in 100 times.

for 6 hours?
I doubt that

She did not sing tht song 100 times mel

Usually songs are created by a composite anyway (multiple takes with the best phrasing put together)

I generally do 5 takes per part in the song

Verse 1 ....5
Verse 2 .....5
Bsec          5
Brideg       5
Chorus 5-10 depending but

Thats 100 takes right there

Surely she didnt do 100 takes per part

And surely she didnt sing the entire song 100 times

Both scenarios exceed the time purported in the studio

QuoteAfter the success of the Stripped Live... on Tour in 2003 which promoted her second studio album Stripped, another US summer tour was scheduled with Chingy to begin in 2004 with a new theme, however it was scrapped due to vocal cord injuries Aguilera suffered shortly before the opening date.
