QuoteAccording to several reports, at the last minute, Chris Brown's appearance on The Daily Show was cancelled and the 26 year old star was replaced with Nick Cannon. Chris was set to appear on Tuesday night's episode.
QuoteApparently The Daily Show staffers took issue with having Chris as a guest due to his domestic violence assault from 7 years ago. The Daily Show host, Trevor Noah, knows about domestic violence all to well. In 2009, his stepfather abused his mother. He shot Noah's mother in the face, then hunted Noah down to kill him. Trevor Noah wanted to use this opportunity with Chris to discuss domestic violence and spread awareness. Unfortunately the staffers did not agree with it and he did not appear on the show.
I feel that if Trevor Noah, a man whose mother was shot in the face by her husband, was okay with having a sit down with Chris, why wouldn't the rest of TDS staff? Is Chris' background the only one they look into? Are all of their guests saints?
This cancellation comes on the heels of news that Chris' tour stops in Australia and New Zealand have been cancelled. Some outlets are reporting it was due to his visa being revoked over the same domestic violence incident.
this will haunt him forever
this is stupid
Lol

It may just be me, but I hate that women (some) go back to abusers. I feel like if its not bad enough for you to let him go then it's not bad enough for him to be punished. I fault Rih even more than a normal female because there's plenty of men she's obviously had, and she can afford top notch security to keep Chris away, most women don't have that.

I can see if he'd done a complete 180 and displayed angelic behavior ever since that incident, but, ever since then, he's displayed anger issues (throwing chairs out of windows, punching people, online tirades etc.) so i think its fair for some to still keep their foot on his neck tbh

If she didnt touch him? He deserves to still be locked up for that MAULING.
Im not trying to excuse domestic violence. But people (if she did hit him first) need to keep their hands to themselves.
I would advise that to any woman or man. Pick your battles. :omgwatshappening:
Essentially it's about consequently treating the sexes equally or not, if RIG believes females are to be viewed differently than men, then that is a completely different outlook. But as a true feminist, it should not be about gender, but about who is physically stronger, but that would mean a guy who fights another guy that is smaller than him should get the same social stigma and lashing, as a guy who fights a woman.

?A lot of women, a lot of young girls, are still going through it. A lot of young boys too. It?s not a subject to sweep under the rug, so I can?t just dismiss it like it wasn?t anything, or I don?t take it seriously.
?But, for me, and anyone who?s been a victim of domestic abuse, nobody wants to even remember it. Nobody even wants to admit it. So to talk about it and say it once, much less 200 times, is like ? I have to be punished for it? It didn?t sit well with me.?

I don't think she 'condones' domestic violence :uhh:
this is all bull to clean up her image
If you don't want to remember it why would you get with the nigga and make songs about liking pain and S&M thinking its cute?
S&M is equal to domestic violence? :uhh:

bottom line is Rih has written a total of 3 lyrics in her entire discography. She milked the case for her music and continues to do so (per the interview you just posted). I've got no respect for her existence and I cannot fckin WAIT for the album come thru so she can be TOSSED out like she deserves to be
I feel uncomfortable that I agree with Talisa a lot today

For her to to blank the question would mean she's ashamed of what happened and is not over it

None of this has to do with Chris Brown. Chris may be far from perfect, but he has actually learned from his mistakes it seems.
Femisim is about equal respect, equal pay, and equal opportunities, not the right to get beat down like a man would beat another man (even though men who beat each other down to bleeding and broken bones are thuggish, too).
Before the "feminist movement" it was kind of accepted by many women that your husband would probably cheat on you and he may hit you. Women were encouraged by their mothers to just work through it. Stop doing what you're doing to make him mad, ect. "It's not worth breaking up your family." This was unless you had one of those husbands who really liked to beat on you on the regular for the fun of it. Then the woman might try to leave or she would turn up dead.
Back then women typically didn't have good jobs, so they couldn't easily leave. Now, it's a different time, and most females don't feel they have to put up with that. That getting beat by a man thing is regressive, not progressive.

it was unnecessary. Rih wanted those lashings.
I agree with Chris being a bad idea for a guest on this show, especially if Trevor Noah wants to talk about domestic violence with him. Trevor is a relatively recent victim of it, and Chris is not the most eloquent nor does he seem to want to speak about it anymore. It could become a Robin Roberts situation all over again. Not to mention the show is a political comedy, and Chris just said he doesn't know politics well.
Lolz!
