Is it not the greatest idea to host this type of event or should Naomi have shown up and secured the bag?
Naomi Campbell reveals she refused a 'ton of money' to be part of an 'all-black fashion show' as she wants to promote 'balanced inclusion' within the industry

Naomi Campbell claimed she refused a 'ton of money' to take part in 'an all-black show' as she is keen to promote 'balanced inclusion' in the fashion industry.
The supermodel, 49, spoke candidly about her experiences in the modelling world with The Guardian's Weekend magazine on Saturday.
Discussing how someone called the increase in diversity a 'cult', and her annoyance with this misguided view, she said: 'To hear this called a 'cult', that was like, "wait a second: so you want me to feel back now that things are turning the other way?" No.
'We just want balance, end of story. I won't do an all-black show, for instance, because it would be hypocritical given what I've stood for, for so long. Balanced inclusion.'
Going on to reveal that she had been asked to do an exclusively black catwalk show, but refused despite the offer of 'tons of money.'
Of her reasoning, Naomi explained: 'I can see clearly when brands want diversity because they get it and think it's the right thing to do - and the ones who just think it will look bad if they don't.'
Naomi recently revealed it's unlikely she'll step away from her glamorous exploits anytime soon in favour of motherhood, as she's 'not yet' ready.
In an interview with WSJ. Magazine last month, the British beauty disclosed that she instead views herself as a mother figure to the countless children who cross her path through her tireless philanthropic work, particularly in Africa.
When asked by the publication about her possible plans to have children, she responded: 'Naomi on having kids: 'Not yet—I'll see what the universe brings me.'
Naomi also spoke about her living the single life, after years of dating a number of high-profile men.
'Being alone doesn't mean you are lonely,' she said. 'I don't have time to be bored, and I don't have time to be lonely.'

It's like with some of these "woke" Black people ...if something isn't taking place at the White man's table...it don't matter
it's not progress.
and it's not worth the time.
This is basically what I'm getting
so we say no thanks to that mess ....
Then proceed to finish SCRATCHING, BEGGING, CRYING and PAWING at the door for a seat with the White folks
cuz that means we're accomplished , established, talented, worthy..
LET MEH IN! ohhh plz let us all in

It was one of the companies she called out last year for not being inclusive of blacks, now all of a sudden they wanna host an all black event? Please.
QuoteOf her reasoning, Naomi explained: 'I can see clearly when brands want diversity because they get it and think it's the right thing to do - and the ones who just think it will look bad if they don't.'

This little tidbit you offered regarding her history with the company wasn't in the article
And it still says that she prefers "balanced inclusion" over an all-Black mess.
and then it gives the reason as to why she refused to do that event :dead:
I mean if you read a lil bit and read between the lines a bit...
Quote from: deep fried indian on November 17, 2019, 05:44:35 AM
Balanced inclusion will never happen , though.
So she can pop and twist, and shake all she wants
well it's worked for UK Vogue, where she works.
And her and Gucci just took their 1st year of design students in Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya
So carrying on popping and twisting Queen
Quote from: deep fried indian on November 17, 2019, 05:47:09 AM
There's no need to read between anything tbh
Naomi's mission has been clear: Force White designers to hire more Black models.
It's never been "Create a separate space."
Um
Yes it has, she's been angling for equal opportunities AND getting black staff, designers, models ect the education and platform and the means to create their own
she just wants black designers, models, photographers ect to get the same opportunities on a global scale.
See her work in Africa since 1994.
We know you don't like the bitch but jeez :dead:

Naomi is so complex and disciplined with her ideals..stubborn as hell..she needs to chill a bit
And all seriousness there will never be an entirely separate black space in western fashion, so the next best thing is inclusiveness.
Black designers, staff, photographers ect infiltrating these notorious white spaces and have their influence trickle down>>>
Look at what her friends Edward has done for UK Vogue and Pat has a billion dollar make up business :dead:
That's why she's always flying in and out of Africa trying to drum up business and telling the African girls to keep their prints, waxes patterns and intellectual property to themselves, she actually skipped NYFW this year and curated The African Fashion Week this year and has been wearing African designers to promote their mess.
She can't do it all by herself, so patterning with Gucci, a company that has all the links, networking, funds and platforms available is a great educational tool for these African designers who only have the means to make one outfit at a time, something that annoyed her when she wanted to showcase them.
It's logistical.
