I really loved this song. I think it would have done good if it came out today but Rico was trying to be different and people wasn't ready.
The lyrics are corny as hell, for grown ass women. At the time, Brandy was just glad to record anything with Monica cause she was more poppin at the time. She would never sign on to something like that now.

:usuresis:
Vocally this song is unmatched. But I was expecting better. That's why Brandy didn't feature it on her album I guess. And she did say it didn't fit the "Theme and mood"
I don't think neither wanted to do it but thought they needed each other. Brandy wasn't doing nothing at all and Monica records wasn't doing great in the pop department. The song would have blend into Two Eleven but it flopped so it wasn't a need to included it. I do think it would have worked now with a little tune up.
Sean Garrett should've wrote the song at that time... probably would've gave them the bop they needed to kick start both their eras

That's your delusional take on the situation? :kii:
Brandy wasn't glad because Monica was more poppin. Monica wasn't even THAT bitch. I could see if it was Gaga or Beyonce you're talking about. Lol. Brandy had just signed to RCA and was pressured to record a follow up to The Boy Is Mine.

Brandy was not mad at Monica. She know who tf she is and what she can do. Neither one of them wanted to do it. The label just saw bucks.

I mean Bran was wanting to do a duet for a few years
And let's not forget Mon came back lashing just before this era with 2 #1s and a Gold album , Grammy noms etc
Bran even said " she's the idea for me right now "
So she was definitely excited to work with her
And Vise Versa
I do think they could have gotten a stronger song
But this song still slays me :plzstop:
Especially vocally
Ack
their love for eachother back then was really genuine
Mon going to DWTS to support etc
the Grammy party ; they were each other's dates
They ad-lib with each other so well
I gotta give them that
