This fkn album is so polarizing djdjdjdjdj djdjdj
You either sat and listened to it, learned it, and have a love for nuance and technicalities.... or you can't get in. It's just not simple straight forward listening. I was at a lil get together and I requested my friend play the album after Amerie All I Have had been playing. We were both stanning each album.... I'm tipsy so I'm humming every run as politely and tame as possible at the card table, but I noticed other people were struggling to bop. I guess it was a bad choice cuz it's not party music but like when Apart and All In Me came t u I was ready to jump outta my seat because I know the greatness and every inch of those avant- garde ass songs.... but everyone else besides us 2 were like :rudone:
bbhhhhhhhhhhhh
Idk I feel like if it's not singers or artist in the room people don't really get it ... I find most ppl I know kind of let go of Brandy after NSN so they usually vibe more to 94-99 Baby bran vs artist love all of it but definitely Stan for full moon , afro Bran . Sis is a diff version of herself on every album so I get it .
full moon was enjoyable all around. don't think it was that deep.
!!!!!! & lovechild
It also didn't help that it wasn't as loud as it needed to be because socializing but I felt so alone drrr

Yea, even I didn't LOVE Full Moon when I bought it on my 13th birthday
it took me 2 yrs because I was young and looking for surface level bops
but when I was a little more musically educated and inclined
this album>>>>
its very avant-garde

Lol y'all love saying this... Some people just don't like the same things as you (even Brandy's music) and it's ok. Now if they say she can't sing then you need to question their hearing

See, the thing is, if someone didn't listen to Brandy's NSN and really soak it all in and see the transformation into Full Moon, they wouldnt really appreciate it. When What About Us came out, it was a different sound for music, for Darkchild even. The huge improvements in her vocals when compared to NSN. The woman she became. People just dont make albums like FM anymore. So the average person wont get it. I loved every single song when I first hrd it as a teen.
I feel like outside of the obvious NSN, Two Eleven is the best album to put on for casual listeners.
Full Moon as a whole is experimental on purpose, they made the mess for it to give an acquired taste tea

Yes! Her retired self

Full Moon is like a big piece of gourmet cake. There's layers to it. You gotta digest it bite by bite, and layer by layer. Then save some for later.

I can see this. 911 was generic so it appealed to the average basic audience.

He Is was meant to be her 3rd single. And it kinda sucks that she had to end her FM era short cause I feel that song woulda been one of her classics today.

Same! People would go UP and be surprised af when I play them the Afrodisiac album. It always leads to the convos of oh this is Brandy?! why Brandy ain't put this song out or pushed this album more... then they'll go back and listen to her entire catalog and become new stans

Full Moon sounded so terrible to me when I first heard it .. it's def a grower and a very unusual album .
I personally loved Full Moon instantly. The production was so futuristic and edgy. I played the WAU single owtt.
However once Afrodisiac came out, my love shifted to that album, and I barely listen to FM these days. Something about it aged badly, it doesn't excite me anymore. :rudone: And I noticed that with a lot of Rodney's work.
