Nissan is launching a subscription service that allows drivers to switch to a different car every day.
The program called "Nissan Switch", will cost between $699 to $899 a month depending on which tier you choose.
The "Select" tier will offer access to models like the Altima, Rogue, and Pathfinder, while the "Premium" tier offers access to the Maxima, Murano, and Armada models, among others. It's a $495 fee to join the program and the subscription includes delivery, insurance, cleaning, roadside assistance, and regular maintenance.
To switch to a different car, drivers can "use the Nissan Switch app or text your personal concierge to schedule your switch," according to the company's website. Nissan will then deliver the vehicle within a specified service area

$700 a month to drive a damn Nissan
This is so silly
Which is a terrible idea for Nissan. This only makes sense for Luxury lines, like Porsche does.
But they've been struggling in sales :dead: So I guess they're trying something new.
They must be just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.
:uhh: :uhh: :uhh: :uhh:

You apparently order it through the app and they deliver it to you at your location.
Oh that's convenient
This is kinda cool to me
And with insurance being included
But for a Nissan? n
I feel like it should be for a more luxury vehicle
This doesn't even make sense as far as owners and usage.. you could potentially be getting a car that has had 40 past users.

it comes with maintenance
It's just like a rental like Brandon said
Nissan is just dumb. They know damn well the girls aren't rushing to pay a grip monthly for a Nissan

That honestly wouldn't matter if the insurance, and maintenance cost are covered in that payment. The car should still be running fine, no matter how many users.
I actually like this, just needs to be about $200 more cheaper.
Mercedes or BMW need to announce something like this
! All it takes is this model to prove successful and everyone will be releasing one after them at cheaper, more competitive prices. Let's see how this looks in 5 years.
It's already a thing
Nissan is just the first 'affordable' brand to hop on
https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/2020-new-car-subscription-service-guide-buying-leasing-audi-genesis-porsche-volvo/
Access by BMW BMW now has a pilot program running in Nashville for its subscription service, Access by BMW (https://www.cnet.com/news/bmw-access-subscription-plan-monthly/). The program is a two-tiered affair and isn't cheap (Porsche has a similar program we cover later in this article). The first tier, which BMW is calling "Legend," will set users back a cool $1,399 per month and gives access to vehicles like the 4 Series (https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/reviews/2018-bmw-4-series-430i-coupe-review/), 5 Series (https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/reviews/2018-bmw-m550i-xdrive-review/) and X5 (https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/reviews/2019-bmw-x5-review/) (but not the M models) as well as the excellent M2 (https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/reviews/2019-bmw-m2-review/). Upgrading to the $2,699 M tier and things start to get really interesting with access to the M4 Convertible, M5, M6 Convertible, X5M and X6M.
jesus!

I get that. I'm saying the turn around of this will be way more than that of a rental. Even if someone has a rental because they had a car accident... they'll have the car for more than a week or so. If you're renting a car because you're out of town on average you'll have it for about 2-3 days... but to just be flipping through owners everyday... something don't sit right with me about it.
Unless every time a car is returned they keep it.. and it has to go through some process/ maintenance before it goes out again... But that just sounds like unnecessary time and money spent.
D
not 2k a month for a Cadillac mess. The idea is cool.... but nobody is gonna pay 2k a month for cheap ass Cadillac when they could just buy a damn Range Rover, at that point.
:udontlookok:
Car sales are down because of all these crossovers and SUVs that are dominating
Notice it's mostly cars they're trying to rent out :plzstop:
It's really just profit for them, because any income is better than the car sitting on the lot not making them ANYTHING. Maintenance is cheap as fuck. You're paying for service and time when you're getting routine check-up, not the parts. I'd probably do this if it were half that cost.
I feel like the clients that they're trying to target with these prices are
1. Not even interested in these lower end brands
2. Will just BUY a truly luxury vehicle(s) before subscribing to some mess like this.
:omf:
They need to drop the prices and switch their marketing target if they want this to be successful.
Or maybe they know they are about to close up shop soon and they've already manufactured or are contracted to manufacture a certainty amount of cars.. by do this they would at least make SOMETHING off the cars.. idk there's probably a lot holes in that theory but I just thought about it.

Crossovers, Trucks, and SUVS now have the same MPG as cars + it can hold their 6 kids and a truck full of groceries
Thinking about it.... Nissan is probably in serious danger (which is why we're seeing them try new things like this). They've never been able to compete with brands like Ford in the SUV/Truck market. It's funny though... American brands were in a rocky area for a while, but with this cultural shift to SUVS/Trucks dominating, we might see American brands back on top in the 2020s.

America has figured it out and rebranded themselves as basically the new Totoyas. They don't try to compete with the luxury gorls anymore. Or rather they found a more strategic way to compete.
Why would somebody pay 45k for a Nissan mess when they can buy a BMW or Mercedes for the same? :dead: Or buy an America mess with more features for LESS.
Ford n the gorls giving quality, durability, and luxury features for a FRACTION of the price now. That's why MESS like Kia is coming outta nowhere DRAGGING the market. I didn't even know Kia was an American brand. :uhh:

700 IS INSURANCE?
I pay 102 for full coverage with Geico. Holy shit.
I know you guys get paid more overall but fuck
Progressive charge over $700 in NYC. Geico is like $560 which is what I pay. It also goes by the area too since I live in the Bronx. Ugh.
that's ridiculous
You can get a really small apartment down here for $700 :dead:
It might be hood or in a trailer park and you might get shot, but an apartment nonetheless
