I have a feeling they weren't confident in Britney officially releasing a song about emotions and mood swings I can't think of any other reason. It's better than every song on the album

Her best albums/songs are when she has creative control (Britney, ITZ, Blackout).

There is no reason why she don't sing in her natural mess like on Mood Ring.
