:shook:

On February 11, 2020 the World Health Organization announced an official name for the disease that is causing the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak, first identified in Wuhan China. The new name of this disease is coronavirus disease 2019, abbreviated as COVID-19. In COVID-19, 'CO' stands for 'corona,' 'VI' for 'virus,' and 'D' for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as "2019 novel coronavirus" or "2019-nCoV". There are many types of human coronaviruses including some that commonly cause mild upper-respiratory tract illnesses. COVID-19 is a new disease, caused be a novel (or new) coronavirus that has not previously been seen in humans. The name of this disease was selected following the World Health Organization (WHO) best practice for naming of new human infectious diseases.

This what we are experiencing is many types of corna in one. I personally think this was made on purpose by someone.

Corna isn't new but COV-19 is.

I guess. And it depends on which outlets. I didn't watch the CNN town hall because it came off salacious and I can't stand Sanjay

But I've never heard of Corona before, so I had no idea it was Sars big bad older sister coming for revenge

I think I heard this from the beginning, like a month ago. There have been several articles about Detol soap and how they put the name Corona on the packaging.. That is why it is a novel 'Corona virus' called COVID_19

I can understand in the USA it is difficult to get informed when you can't trust a lot of sources (channels like CNN or Fox). I can imagine it is an overload of info and paranoia.

I really like Vox, they also have good podcasts called 'Today Explained' (also on Spotify). They do good research and explain it in a clear way.
