I feel bad for the couple featured in this video I guess
but why would they rent something that is high enough in price that BOTH of their salaries are needed to pay it month-to-month?
they never thought of the possibility that one of them could lose their job? :uhh: (which is what happened)
i mean it's one thing to WING it a bit when it's just yourself
but they have kids...
and clearly they didn't have much in savings cuz soon as this happened it was game over for them.
i thought White people were intellectually superior n stuff. wtf man

I'm watching a bit of it now.
They live in San Francisco.
Expensive as shit there.
In NYC, my apartment is over 2k. And no, I do not live in Manhattan.
It is costly in these areas. And it sucks.
Even in the less desirable neighborhoods, it's like $1500+
A month worth of unemployment benefits would barely cover my rent.
This is most Americans here.
I have friends in their late 20s and 30s still living with roommates, just to pay $1000-$1400 for a room. Smh.
People who live well beyond their means are sick. Like what do you have to prove to anyone else when you lay down in your own mess?
:rudone:

this GHETTO ass mess. :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop:
i thought i was maybe being a tad insensitive but i'm not the only one side eyeing the fuck outta this tragic story
QuoteHow can someone with a thriving business for so many years don't have savings for even 3 months?
QuoteFirst off, you're shopping for vegetables in the organic section and complaining you can't afford juice. Then you buy your kids lemonade which is 80% pure sugar. You can get 100% juice concentrate for half the price. Better yet. Drink water. It's better for your kids. And ok. She still has income & he's home on unemployment but you don't have to pay child care right now or gas to get to & from work. Learn how to manage your money.
QuoteWhy is he not shopping at Aldi...and buying Organic....they will be alright
The fuckin GHETTO.

Im sorry.
Thankfully, Im working. Got laid off for 4 days and got called bk to work in a diff department earning the same amount. But even IF I was laid off getting unemployment benefits, I'd be okay cause I always go by the principle that no matter how much money u make, ALWAYS save something each month. And especially if u have a family w/ kids, always have at least 3 months supply of food stored away in the event of any disaster or setbacks. when the going was good, they didnt prepare themselves and now after a few weeks, they are in panic mode. Im sorry. Im not in their shoes and dont know their full story but I'd be damned if I have a family w/ 4 kids without some kind of a relief fund of my own.
The house of cards is falling and capitalism is failing.
The 1% is good though.
U know what...lets not mince words. Fuck them and their Louis Vuitton phone cover. They should learn from this.

it's really irresponsible and selfish.
that apple computer that i saw alone could have been 1-2 months of mess in their account.
get a compaq presario mess.
nothing wrong with liking and wanting "the best" but make sure you can REALLY afford it.
not that you're living on the edge from month to month to maintain it.
and even now, the guy is going to the store in the organic section and buying lemonade for the kids
it just shows how clueless they are. it's borderline delusional.
then have the nerve to reference how bad "the system" is.
if "the system" is that bad, make sure YOUR system is up to par so u wont end up having to rely on it so quickly.
dumb ass.
Right. I get it, SF rent is no joke but there are plenty of other ways for you to not spend every penny you have. Just irresponsible.
Probably shouldn't have a bunch of children if you can't afford it either

Exactly. I'm from Jamaica, born and raised. A 3rd world country. And I moved to North America living here for almost 4 yrs now. And it kills me when ppl complain about the government. Because where Im from, theres no such thing as tax returns or unemployment checks. If ur business shuts down or u lose ur job, ur on ur own. I just see things differently perhaps, cause I lived in a country where u never rely on the government to do anything for u. U gotta fend for urself. Hurricane / tropical storm every yr destroy ur house? Good luck rebuilding on ur own. So u always have to stay ready.
These arent even families that are living in the projects tryna make ends meet. A single mom w/ 5 kids that worked as a cashier making minimum wage in NYC. This family should know better. I dont feel sorry for them one bit. Maybe after 4 months or so? Sure. But what do they expect? For Trump to pay them all that they used to make? Talkin bout "we are happy for the stimulus check but its not enuf". Trump would just tell they asses to direct their question/concerns to Chi-nauh! And I'd be right there with him.

I also don't like how they only showed white families
I'm sorry, I have compassion for them. A lot of people are just not good with money.
I learnt a lot of these painful lessons in my 20s as a student but some people learn later in life or never learn at all.
I remember having 10 dollars for the whole week and being able to eat GOOD with those 10 dollars for the whole week.
I turnt that meat sauce every way I could. Bulked it with frozen Veg. Pasta stretches a long way. Ramen Noodles are cheap and delicious. I Even learnt to bake bread and pizzas. Homemade cakes, pancakes, and biscuits. You can do a lot with a little flour.
You can literally find a step-by-step recipe for anything on youtube.

Dont feel bad for either
I mean, I do understand when you're raised a certain way, you could not have a real grasp on money
But they have kids. No matter how many millions you have, you see that shit don't come cheap. They didnt learn how to save from having not only 1, but fcking 3?
They'll be fine, they're white.
