Title: Black entertainers not owning their work (RHOA, MTM , Braxtons)
Post by: Drogon on July 15, 2020, 02:30:43 PM
Can't stand moose character on the show but she brought rhoa to bravo and unlike the white women she doesn't own no rights to the show not even a producer credit

Same thing with Mariah on Married to Medicine

BFM episode's are being played on Netflix and aren't being paid. They dont own any of the rights and dont make any residuals

And now Nick Cannon doesn't even own Wild n Out

Nick didn't own Wild N Out? :uhh:

If so, that's his own fault. He has enough clout to renegotiate his contract.

Yup.

These industry execs will take advantage of black creativity and talent and profit off of it until there's no more profit to be made.

Then they throw you out.

Right. With her sisters history I would think reading contracts would be a priority :dead:

And Vince should have ironed all that stuff out.

She, Vince, Toni and Troy were listed as EPs very early on. It's such a shame.

But as far as Mariah she needs to sue and she would win. No is the time to get back at the whites.

They don't deserve to own these shows if they did not create them. They use huge networks for production and exposure. These shows would not successful if not for the networks. Every one is those women are replaceable.

Tyler Perry would never...

i dont think anyone else would want to claim his work

not including nene, but like for tamar and mariah, isn't that something that should be worked out in the contract? honestly asking.

I'm pretty sure Mariah is still credited for being a creator and producer of M2M.

But she was pushed out of the cast, and deservedly so.

Yeah...RHOC already existed before the ATL franchise.

Plus, Sheree and Kim made those first two seasons what it was.
and RHONY too
