An iconic era
It was a kii because only about 2 or 3 other girls did more that year first week wise.
even WITH it leaking a whole month in advance. :plzstop:

The hive really showed owt. The girls were makin 4Lop and 4closure jokes while their faves were selling less albums
I just... wow
Bey turned this era out. Releasing a pure R&B album in the middle of the EDM craze while R&B was at its least successful point ever... that was a brave move. And she got a few career staples out of it
"Run the World" kinda fit the pop craze at that time though. It's the fact that she kept pushing it even after it not doing well that it made it so bold to me :kii: she didn't give af if we liked it or not and still doesn't
idk that it was "Brave" cuz she was still BEYONCÉ at the end of the day, but I'm certainly glad she didn't give us another album of pop fluff. I really appreciate most of the 4 album now
To ME, the Surprise drop was the one of most brave things I've ever seen, cuz no one really knew how tf that would go.

hmm..I can't think of any hits that sounded like RTW at the time

But LDK:SJFL:FDOFJI
I'm sure Bey thought she was changing the game with RTW. The way she tried to forcefeed it to us..fjadkl;sjf;lds But i guess it worked.
I remember hearing RTW for the first time. omf
I wanted her dead. Didn't start liking it really until the BBMA's
start over will always be one of my faves from this album. Such an amazing song

I'm glad she stuck to her guns and pushed forward with RTW.
THE GIRL still reference that track everywhere and DEF in movie and shows

And in total.
Bey outsold all their albums in pure sales minus Gaga, Adele and Taylor.

ccfffjgjgjgjgggggggggggggg
what the heck man
The album stands out even more nearly a decade later
Quee was really brave to put out a retro r&b album during the oonce oonce electropop era when everyone was conforming to top 40
Although she already exorcised that spirit during the Caucasian Fierce era :young:
I Miss You is the best thing she's ever done
I always loved 4 from the jump and still do.
So many classics.

It has aged well. Listening to it rn.
The bridge is my fav part. The way the beat goes away and she is like breathing the words ..
I feel I know what's best for us.
Then that goes into the growl
let's start ovaahhhhhHHHHHHH

I hate this song lol
:hmph: How ? It's everything
I think it's just resonates with me.
Around this time I had a bf and I cheated and screwed up a chance of real love and everytime I hear it, it brings me back to that moment where I would have given anything for us to start over...

!!!! The bridge is my favorite damn PART
4 is her best mess. It was so pure and raw. It was definitely the turning point in her career. She successfully transitioned from bubble gum popstar to the new era that music was moving to.
Gaga tried to attempt with Joanna but it was too late.
I loved this album.
And this was the last time when a Beyoncé era truly felt like an ERA. With several performances and interviews and not just an album quickly followed by a tour.
Justice for these 2 songs that deserved so much better
These 2 are just
