QuoteA Michigan family court judge has denied a motion to release a teen who has been held at a juvenile facility since mid-May. The girl was charged with violating her probation after not doing her online schoolwork. The judge cited the teen's past violence against her mother as the reason to stay in a juvenile center. Adriana Diaz reports.

That%u2019s ridiculous.
Did she really abuse her mother? The judge is making her sound like one of those Maury kids
QuoteGrace was a high school sophomore in Birmingham Public Schools when she was charged with assault and theft last year, for incidents in which she bit her mother%u2019s finger and pulled her hair and stole another student%u2019s cellphone.
She was placed on probation in mid-April and, among other requirements, was to complete her schoolwork. Grace, who has ADHD and receives special education services, struggled with the transition to online learning and fell behind when Groves High School stopped in-person learning because of COVID-19. Her probation officer filed a violation against her on May 5, two weeks into the probation.
Sounds like princess has behavioral issues in addition to going through puberty
Imo: Its a dicey situation but I feel like princess being locked away during the rondemic for months over homework is excessive.
I read she's been meeting with therapists in juvie but the same could be done on the outside (from a community rehabilitation and therapy point of view vs institutions that are very anti-black)
:shannonsmissing::damselindistress: After hearing that she's basically a wild animal that attacks her mother........ I'm definitely conflicted
"Didn't Do Homework"
"If she was White"
Disregards and continues reading
Violated probation
:butwait!:
Next woke case!

Sounds like the mom wanted a fucking break.
A lot of kids are bad so I don't think a prison sentence was justified here.
Maybe a week to set her straight a bit would make some kind of sense but months in a detention center?
She should've gotten the fucking electric chair for attacking her mom
Seems like she's really being punished for her past and the homework was just an excuse to get her

This is sad. I'd like to know what the mother has been doing to help her
If the mother is providing a household that could foster her growth and betterment , how the hell could they reasonably conclude that she's better off in a detention center?
!!!!! That's my thing. How does this make anything better? This increases resentment and possible anger :dead:
And since MAY? That's excessive.

And white kids get violent with authority figures and their guardians more than ANYBODY
Im not excusing ole girl, but come on now. Not them practically sending this girl to prison over some failed assignments

While we kiki at that video of the inbred hillbillies barking at the camera that didn't even attend kindergarten
Not going to jail for not writing a book report :dead:
I'm sure she did MORE than not doing her homework :dead:
It was part of her probation agreement. It's not like the judge is targeting her for not doing her homework, as all those posts make it seem. The girl was already in trouble and didn't hold up her end of the bargain, so she's being held accountable. It's sad either way, but they should be telling the full story.

I really want to know what the mother has planned to support her if she's released soon.
After reading about this, it may be best for her not to stay with the mother at all
Mother daughter relationships are complex enough as is, and who knows how the mom gets down :dead: there's no guarantee she's cotton candy and gumdrops herself
