At least Lark has an excuse for this mess. She has bipolar disorder.

There are other people in good state of mind walking around saying they're not black.

Personally... I think it goes left with people saying "I'm not..."

When really should they be saying "I'm not ONLY..."

More like, "I am an American who happens to be black."

I don't know, I could be wrong.

I agree.

It comes off a little different when someone specifically goes out their way to say "I'm NOT ..."

instead of saying "I am ..... " and continuing with their heritage, if they've properly researched it.

Clearly she should know she's black, was it not painfully obvious that she was the token nigger on Saved By The Bell
a very very pretty black girl....but she was definitely the token.

I definitely believe she has a diverse heritage to explore...she doesn't look 100% "African American" to me.
(in her more natural state before these powder jobs and hair bleaches and mess)

But she should watch her words.

AGAIN though, she has an excuse for this. She has a mental disorder.
Kinda messed up for them to put her on blast for her words knowing that.

I get where the problem may be coming from though.
Most black people do not identify with the African culture.
There are white people who are literally African Americans vs black people, if that makes sense?
But yea, this issue is far too deep.

We're too far removed from Africa to identify with it
which is why its understandable that people get a little :calmdownsis: when it comes to identifying themselves as anything Africa-related.
It's not self hate in these cases, because those same people who may not identify with African labels, will still acknowledge that they are Black. Which in turn implies African American heritage in the states.

We just have our own culture as "Blacks".
And a lot of full blooded natively born Africans don't use us anyway.  :plzstop: :plzstop:
