Yes, she same thru. I was expecting these numbers too. To do this mostly independently without a hit single, this is a book.

Crazy how some of the other artists barely have 1k album purchases but the streaming is equivalent to 20k. She isnt really a streaming artist like that though. so it makes sense.

Sooo proud of her. I hope she releases her next project sooner than later.

I wonder if they are counting the streams from Love Again as well, which had 45 million on Spotify alone. B7 gained 50 million streams over the weekend on Spotify. This is good for an 8 year hiatus but I feel like the numbers aren't being tallied correctly.

Fantasia - Fantasia's 'Sketchbook' With sales equivalence of 10,000 units shifted in its first week of availability, 'Sketchbook' marks the singer's lowest inaugural week sales to date

Imagine if she had a hit single?! I hope this motivates her to keep grindin.

This is so great for no promo and having been gone 8 years. I feel like this release put her back on the map. I think she could do really well on the next one if she doesn't wait too long and builds her brand back up a bit with the GP (just in terms of having music out there)

It better be. Everyone loves it.

KMichelle - All Monsters Are Human was released on January 31, 2020. Following the album's release, it debuted at number 51 on the US Billboard 200,[23] with first week sales of 8,200 copies.[citation needed]

Daniel Cesar - ts launch week, 'Case' moved a total of 22,000 units (a figure powered by 20,465 units generated on the likes of Apple Music, TIDAL, Spotify and Deezer) but only sold 1,635 copies

Fantasia - Fantasia's 'Sketchbook' With sales equivalence of 10,000 units shifted in its first week of availability, 'Sketchbook' marks the singer's lowest inaugural week sales to date

Interesting. Let me find out Brandy is gonna come through with some American Music Award, Billboard Award, and Grammy Award nominations in the R&B categories. She just better keep on with the promotion through the holidays.

So many fans are listening from their library, which is not contributing to her streams. I had to explain this on Facebook a few times.

When you click on the search bar in Apple Music, it shows you the two options: Apple Music/Library. You have to make sure you're clicking on the Apple Music option because your library is still connected.

Brandy's biggest debut week was around 165k for NSN- even at her commercial peak she was never a big opening week girl.

These are great numbers and shows her loyal her fan base is. She's doing respectable numbers 25 years into her career despite having a low profile on social media (the opposite of her peers with way more followers and engagement and still sell significantly less) and no hit single. Her name alone sells the music!

I love it!!!

Toni Braxton did 16k her last album too. Another artist from the 90s. Had a reality TV show and all to help promote. TLC did 12k for their album.

Its cool to know Brandy did it her own way and did the songs she wanted and still did her thing. For anyone "confused" about the sales amount, u obviously dont know whats going on in the industry atm.

Especially not in Brandy's context. People don't buy albums anymore, she didn't have a hit single, she's independent, she's been gone for 8 years, and she's a 41 year old r&b artist from the 90s. There are younger artists on major labels who aren't pulling these numbers, and definitely none of her peers are. This is actually really good. Is this your first time paying attention to album sales in the past 5 years? Lol

Regardless of numbers, I think just being in the top 10 first week is good... that's it you made your mark and have bragging points so they should celebrate that for now but strategize on how to give the album legs so it don't drop out of top 20 within a month

BM didn't chart the billboard top 100 singles

So booking top 10 of hot 200 albums is a BOOK

Adore BM but in the "popular" sense of the word it wasn't a hit

Yeah I know a lot of people who think the song is a flop b/c typically Brandy does have a Hot 100 entering placement & don't really hear it much or want to put it on their playlists... this is why she needs to be strategic on next singles b/c she needs to keep up the playlist placements (i.e Rather Be, No Manana and Say Something)

Agree 100%. Hopefully she's working on putting together performances. Being in quarantine is no excuse for not performing. She can make a deal with another company like Billboard or iHeartRadio to stream a concert and give acoustic/acapella performances on her own social media. Talk shows will be coming back soon, so they need to start booking some appearances.

She def booked.

I totally get ur point but if her numbers are low how is this good? I'm sure she spent her own money for everything. I dunno maybe I'm thinking about the wrong stuff. I don't get all the streaming mess just being honest.

This is not low  :dead:
Especially not in Brandy's context. People don't buy albums anymore, she didn't have a hit single, she's independent, she's been gone for 8 years, and she's a 41 year old r&b artist from the 90s. There are younger artists on major labels who aren't pulling these numbers, and definitely none of her peers are. This is actually really good. Is this your first time paying attention to album sales in the past 5 years? Lol

Y'all need to relax on the chart watching...literally nobody cares except online stans :dead: Literally none of my friends can tell you about the chart success of any artist...not even the ones they like hdndndnd
They're great for bragging, but pretty irrelevant.
Success is defined by visibility nowadays TBH.
For example...in the eyes of the GP, Chloe x Halle are killing it right now, but Bran had a bigger debut than them. This mess doesn't matter lol

Hope we get a "Borderline" performance! I really wanna hear some these songs live because she sang them in her lower register. Ugh, she's would slay them live!

yeah all the HDD predictions and mess have become less and less of an "event" as sales in music continue to plummet overall

this was a very nice project for GHan, she stuck with one producer for the most part so im sure he gave her a good deal for her budget
especially considering he's not up there with Timbo, etc.

and im sure goddess will make enough back from this to at least break even, and she doesn't have to worry about being dropped or whatever.

this was clearly a labor of love and true artistry for her. not just a quick microwave album thrown out to see what sticks as a hit and what doesn't

good job kwee. hope she stays inspired and on this path she;s on. my fav album from GHan since Afro.

I thought chloe and Halle would have way bigger first week sales. Considering their visibility and Brandy being a veteran and having sales equivalent to theirs is great!'
