The song structures are kinda confusing ,,
Lol now that sounds very elementary.... do you have an ear for music?
That's the point
Borderline legit has 4verses. :flamebroiled:
:kii: I swear ppl always complain when these new acts serve 2 hooks n 1 verse ...but then queen goes the extra mile and y'all find something wrong with that too.... :uhh:

thats valid
Brandy writes a certain way
Verse and bridge
Or v
Multiple verses treated like one big chorus
Freedom rings is the closest she cp mes to a normal structure lol

That's why I know the structure is all over the place
Confusing? No. Complex? Yes.
and I think that was the point :dead:
We love an unpredictable song

didn't you just say she was ruining her voice the other day?
God, Brandy stans are so pretentious for the most part.
At first I couldn't get the structure of Lucid Dreams or No Manana but they hit now
Don't get me wrong, I love a verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge with Ghan adlibbing like hell all over the final chorus mess but at least these new songs aren't boring. There IS structure there, it's just weird. But it ain't mumbling over a 2 minute track to a fade out like these other girls.
I get what you mean
I hate Saving all my love for this reason. It feels all over the place. It's rather annoying to hear for me. It works on other songs though. Borderline, lucid and Unconditional are a couple of other weird ones too. But I use those.
Do y'all listen to jazz? If you listen to jazz, you can hear a LOT of that approach to b7. It actually makes a lot of sense from that lens. There are no rules. That's what makes it so beautiful to me.

I'm pretty sure she mentioned jazz as an inspiration for the album in an interview a couple of years back as well.

Who said that jazz doesn't have rules? Jazz has plenty of rules.

That's why it took forever for me to get into SAML. I love it now though and now that I'm familiar with it, it doesn't sound so disjointed.

There are "common" structures just like any other music, but one of the most defining characteristics about the genre itself is improvisation :dead:

I love the fact that some of the songs aren't traditional in that sense.
