I think it started when Ellen recorded her show at home because of corona and decided to hire a freelance media team instead of her own employees.
I think other tv shows and presenters like Jimmy Kimmel paid the employees even if they had to do it from their own pockets..but Ellen was sitting at home in her million dollar home, comparing it to prison while her employees thought they were gonna be fired without pay.
They were not informed about the home recordings and felt abandoned so they started spilling the tea. I think it was the catalyst, shit was probably brewing for a longer time but employees must have felt scared to lose their jobs.
