If you took the drums off of "True" it could have been a really nice single... Listening to it now and it's really a nice piece of music if you can imagine it without the drums lol .. I think it could have worked for Pop and even Country radio

This one didn't age as well as others.
Human is so different from her other works that it sits as an outlier and ppl think its sounds outdated but that's when its compared to her other works. If a white gal sang the Human album, the perception would be different.

Human vocals are better than B7 vocals tho imo Brans voice was in such a sweet spot during that era .

I agree, HUMAN should have been Bran's "I AM SASHA FIERCE" moment and propelled her into the pop girl that mama is. Its sad cause Bran was looked at as past her prime but she was only like 29. Yes. I understand why they went with LD but it wasn't as good as those songs at the time. Ryan Tedder was the king of that sound and LD's chorus/climax wasn't catchy enough.

I remember being so excited for Piano Man in particular before the album came out because I was thinking she was doing another classic Rock n Roll cover and covering Elton John ... but then the "piano man" was Rodney Jerkins :ermm:
Still a good song but just wasn't what I was expecting. I have a feeling it get's a lot of plays on YouTube etc because people are thinking it's going to be a cover like I was thinking.. but maybe I'm wrong.
