Almost made me cry. You can tell the people in that state were hurt by that symbol.
Being from NYC, I was really ignorant to what people have had to endure in such racially regressive areas of the south.
Couldn't imagine going to school every day seeing a symbol of racism flying everywhere as I made my way into buildings.
People down here are resilient and strong.
Clearly, the physical removal of a flag doesn't end racism, whether it's overtly blatant or hidden, but I can understand the cries in the crowd. :'( :'( This is truly beautiful.
