Title: allowing people to dream/hope
Post by: ATLien on December 15, 2020, 08:03:28 AM
ok so i have a buddy (gay guy) who had mentioned wanting to have kids in the past
via surrogate .
my assumption was that he was waiting til he had all his ducks in a row before moving forward with that

but more recently, got more specific and mentioned that he wants to have a kid in 2021.

my first thoughts to myself were :diddraispoot: omg, is he sure?
firstly, i mean his living situation (roommate) , although it's ideal and works for HIM I don't think it's best for a baby
and then he's told me in the past that money gets tight for him sometimes...

all these thoughts came to my mind...i can't help but to think logically sometimes.
and i was tempted to have a sit down mess with him and share my concerns for the BABY.
encouraging him to put all emotion to the side for a bit and really think things through.

but then i was like wait.  did he say he found the surrogate mom yet? :shannonsmissing:
did he mention that he's started the paperwork? or that he has all the money saved to get the ball rolling ?

no. he hasn't. so why the HELL are you even tempted to offer your UNsolicited ass opinion on the tea?
sit back and eat your food, and let that boy dream, and talk about what he'd like to do.

now if he were ever to get very serious i'd definitely take time to make sure he was ready, as a friend.

but sometimes it's just good to stfu. there's a thin line between being helpful/a good friend and being a joy snatcher.

I have friends that ground me when I get like this

Like sis calm your ass down

Then I snap owt of it

I would be homeless turning tricks in England right now if I didn't have the right circle around me
