There are some really cool, down-ass Asians but as a collective I have to agree..

Not at all. I know this is a common sentiment shared online and on twitter but i just don't agree

Many Asians stood by us during these past few months in particular and i won't group them all into the racist category. Many Asians hate Black people but many of them don't. I'm not gonna take my few experiences with hateful people that happen to be Asian and completely shit on 8 people that were murdered.

I'm not saying everyone needs to be out in the streets marching for this, but sometimes it's best to say nothing if you don't care. What I'm seeing lately in certain spaces, is a tone of damn near celebration that people were murdered

It's a fact. Anti blackness is literally a stepping stone for foreigners to jump over BAs into a buffer class caste, and work their way towards whiteness. We've seen this with the Irish. We've seen this with Italians. This is nothing new.

I don't approve of violence of any kind against anyone, but I'm not gonna tell negroes that they need to shill and mule for other people who are just as if not more racist than whites. 🤷🏾‍♂️

The hate is real but they need to realize that they too are extremely hateful. I just don't understand how they equate this movement as if Asians are losing their lives left and right..

I would actually say it's quite racist to make a statement like that. Generalizing a whole community of people as if they are one in the same.

Asians tend to do well academically and even financially. If you do well academically the chances of you getting a lucrative career are higher. And I think as a result of those statistics, they tend to look down upon blacks. Even the chink women in the nail shops yanking folks nails off and giving them attitude when they aren't satisfied with the service. I feel zero sympathy for them. Sorry.

Blanket statements like that are kinda unfair

However

Anti blackness is real

The relation between asian americans and black americans has always been complex ie

Asian popular music jacking black culture while also being anti black

China scapegoating and trying to blame african immigrants for covid-19

China accused of neocolonialism in Africa

The nail salon/hair supply brawls/tensions in black neighborhoods

Latasha Harlins murder

https://youtube.com/watch?v=r7jRDrpsByQ&feature=share

Etc

So im not gonna gaslight black people due to this complex history.

And black people historically have a reason to be reserved about becoming another group's "mule". Why take on someone's cause when you can't be sure the energy will be reciprocated.

Funky really dug into this mess actually in a constructive but non pc way:

https://youtube.com/watch?v=qzsjPcw1Bb8&feature=share

As for me personally im completely here for 'stop asian hate' as a movement and hashtag. Im always here for the calling owt of white terrorism and supremacy. Plus its its own thing vs hijacking blm for asian lives matter which are two distinct and complex issues due to history and anti blackness (which is a deep history for both in america) .

Like Funky said, we can condemn white supremacy while also calling out a history of anti blackness. Because if we just sit and pretend, nothing will change.

One of the major issues with the StopAsianHate "movement" is the fact that many of them view blacks as the people hating/displaying hateful behaviors toward Asians..

true tea

that entire latasha harlins mess boiled my fuckin blood

had never heard of it until i watched "OJ: Made in America"

it's no wonder black people were rejoicing at him getting away with slicin n dicin his white wife to pieces
her killing in California (and Asian lady getting away with it) was one of the major events that preceded his trial.

people may see things like that as heartless and cruel but you can't expect people to act and speak 100% rationally when they've been dealt such a dirty hand in this country for so long

the ching chongs are getting a TASTE of a tea. a lil sample mess.

and if that white psycho who went on a killing spree against them in ATL gets away with those murders with a little bit of probation like Latasha Harlin's korean killer did after shooting her point blank in the head as Latasha walked AWAY from her, they'll REALLY be getting a taste of what it's like.

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to the happy ending massage parlor employees but in general idgaf about Asians.

How about they address the colorism and hate given to darker skinned Asians in their own communities?

Asians cherish their proximity to whiteness. As a collective they don't care for us, and the feeling is reciprocated on my end.

I hate this linear thinking everyone has been pulling out their ass over this topic. You can acknowledge how fucked up asians can be to black people (especially the ones who frequent their businesses) and acknowledge how white supremacy has simultaneously harmed them in this country and their homelands.

the extreme anti-blackness within asian culture also needs to be factored into the equation of why many black people feel this way. heavily, in fact.
